The Twenty third dinner of Yeshiva K’tana of Waterbury took place on Sunday, January 8th and was a smashing success! Close to 400 people came to celebrate “an evening of expansion”. The dinner highlighted a purchase of a second campus to accommodate much growth in the community along with the expansion of services and programming within the school.

The evening took place in The Aria, a beautiful venue in Prospect, CT. The event began with a dinner buffet. Following the buffet, Rabbi Moshe Dov Heber, the dinner chairman introduced the program. Rabbi Brecher, the Menahel then spoke about expansion and the devotion of the Rabbeim and Moros. This was followed by a music video made by the Yeshiva K’tana boys choir, with lyrics written for this event. The keynote speaker of the evening was Rabbi Yechiel Spero who spoke with passion about the job of Chinuch and introduced a simcha fund for the rabbiem and moros. The feature presentation was a video highlighting the expansion in so many areas, from the expanded learning center, to a rebbi for Pre-1A, to a purchase of a new campus and so much more. This was followed by lebedik dancing with music provided by the Shira Choir.

Much of this growth is due to the Kollel Avreichim which under the leadership of Rabbi Meir Simcha Kaufman came four years ago and raised the level of Torah. There has been Torah growth in all neighborhoods and mosdos of Waterbury.
