Jonathan Pollard, a former U.S. intelligence analyst who was jailed for spying for Israel, sat down with i24 News to discuss a range of topics from the antisemitic overtones of his interrogations in the U.S. to the unheeded warnings of October 7.

A future Trump administration will ensure its stance toward Israel is clear and unwavering, according to the president-elect’s pick for U.S. ambassador to Israel. Speaking with The New York Post, he emphasized that consistency will replace the mixed signals of past policies.
“The biggest challenge is that the message that our nation has given to Israel has often been very mixed,” said former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee in his first exclusive interview since his appointment as ambassador was announced on November 12.

Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore expressed confidence that a second Donald Trump presidency would have minimal impact on the forward movement of the international climate agenda. Gore asserted that the global drive to address climate change will persist “despite” Trump’s actions.
Trump has renewed his promise to withdraw the United States from the Paris climate accord if re-elected, a decision that looms over the ongoing U.N. COP29 climate talks in Baku, according to AFP.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Gore aligned himself with President Joe Biden’s climate policy team, which has urged global leaders to stand firm against Trump’s potential policies.

Israeli Defense Minister Yisroel Katz has authorized the issuance of 7,000 draft notices to chareidim starting next week, a decision that has provoked outrage from the United Torah Judaism party, a key member of the ruling coalition.
This move was initially approved by former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, who was dismissed by Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu earlier this month. Although some anticipated Katz might reverse Gallant’s decision, he opted not to, and the Israel Defense Forces confirmed earlier this week that the plan would proceed.
The first batch of 1,000 enlistment notices will be dispatched on Sunday, with the remaining orders set to follow in the coming months.

Google’s worldwide employee base, including its Israeli contingent, received a $400 allocation for charitable giving on Monday, with the option to direct these funds to organizations from a company-approved list. The inclusion of UNRWA, the U.N. agency whose operations in Israel were recently suspended following evidence of its personnel’s participation in the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attacks, has sparked considerable discussion within the company.

Hezbollah has received a copy of the US ceasefire proposal,  sent to the Speaker of Lebanon’s Parliament, Nabih Berri, according to Al Jazeera, the Qatari pro-Hamas propaganda outlet.
According to the report, Hezbollah will look over the proposal, and inform Berri of its response.
Last night, the Lebanese channel Al Jadeed reported that Berri sent a message back to the US Embassy after receiving the proposal, expressing optimism regarding the possibility of achieving a ceasefire deal within days or a week.
Reportedly, a key part of the deal would be the immediate activation of the Lebanese military along the Litani river, to prevent any Hezbollah terrorists or arms from re-entering the area.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un oversaw a test of suicide drones and directed their mass production, emphasizing the need for updated military strategies due to the growing global use of such technology, state media reported on Friday.
Earlier this year, Kim supervised a similar test of these drones amid increasing military collaboration with Russia. This raised speculation about whether Moscow might be providing North Korea with technical assistance to develop the weaponry.
Suicide drones, also referred to as loitering munitions, have seen extensive use in conflicts such as the war in Ukraine and in regions across the Middle East.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed optimism that the ongoing conflict with Russia will conclude more quickly under the leadership of President-elect Donald Trump.
“The war will end, but there is no exact date. Of course, with the policy of this team, which will now lead the White House, the war will end sooner,” Zelenskyy remarked during an interview with Ukraine’s Suspilne broadcaster.
Zelenskyy also emphasized the importance of achieving a resolution that ensures justice for his nation, stating that a “fair peace” is essential for Ukraine.

Iran conveyed in a written message prior to the U.S. election that it had no intention of targeting then-presidential candidate Donald Trump, according to U.S. officials.
The message, dated October 14, was sent to the United States but went unreported until The Wall Street Journal revealed it on Friday.
This development followed a private communication from the U.S. to Iran in September, emphasizing the Biden administration’s stance that any threats to Trump’s life were a critical national security concern. The U.S. warned that such actions would be regarded as acts of war.
