Former Vice President Joe Biden explicitly called for President Trump to be impeached on Wednesday afternoon at a campaign stop in New Hampshire, the Daily Beast reports.  “Donald Trump has violated his oath of office, betrayed this nation and committed impeachable acts,” Biden said while speaking onstage at a stop in Rochester. “He should be impeached.” The move represents a significantly stronger stance for the Democratic contender, who has for weeks faced sustained attacks from the president. He went on to criticize Trump’s treatment of the United States Constitution, saying he’s “shooting holes” in the document. “The United States cannot have a president who will abuse whatever power he has available to him in order to get reelected,” he said.

President Trump on Wednesday addressed his decision to withdraw American troops from northern Syria, abandoning our Kurdish allies—who have done a majority of the fighting against ISIS—before an impending attack by Turkey, the Daily Beast reports. Trump noted several contributing factors, including that the Kurds, an Iranian ethnic group, did not help the United States during World War II—including the invasion of Normandy Beach.

Ah gut yohr to all Matzav readers across the globe on this Motzoei Yom Hakippurim. We hope that you all have a meaningful fast. May all your tefillos be accepted On High l’tovah and may this be a year of yeshuos, refuos, hatzlacha and bracha for all of Klal Yisroel. Of course, we are praying that this will be the year of the ultimate yeshuah, with the coming the geulah.
Tonight is considered a quasi-Yom Tov. There is a minhag to begin building the sukkah tonight.

At least two people were shot dead on a street in the German city of Halle on Wednesday, police said, with witnesses saying that a shul was among the gunmen’s targets as Jews marked the holy day of Yom Kippur.
One suspect was captured but with a manhunt ongoing for other perpetrators, security has been tightened in shul in other eastern German cities while Halle itself was in lockdown.
Two people also suffered serious bullet wounds in the attack and were being operated on, a spokesman for the city’s hospital said.
The shooter allegedly said that “the Jews are the source of all our problems.”

Q:
What should we think about on motza’ei Yom Kippur?
A:
On motza’ei Yom Kippur the first thing is to say, “Hashem, how good it is to eat! It’s so much fun to eat!” I’m serious about this. “Boruch Hashem, how good food is! How good a glass of water is!” All year long you forget about it, and that’s a pity. It’s a pity because food is very good. Water is very good. So that’s the first lesson of motza’ei Yom Kippur. And be sure not to lose that lesson. Ahh! Boruch Hashem for food! הזן את העולם כולו – You’re feeding the entire world!

United Hatzalah Volunteers across Israel and the Ukraine treated more than 3,000 people on Yom Kippur. Emergency calls included fainting, weakness, low blood sugar and several people losing consciousness due to the fast as well as hundreds of bicycle injuries and births.

Beginning Rosh Chodesh Elul, our focus turns to repentance. Every morning, at the conclusion of Shacharis, we recite “L’Dovid Hashem Ori,” [Psalm 27] which contains allusions to this special time of year and the process of repentance.
