On the heels of two recent anti-Semitic crimes, Jewish leaders across the five boroughs are demanding more cops patrol their communities as Yom Kippur approaches.
“Enough is enough,” said city Councilman Chaim Deutsch, who represents southern Brooklyn, including the heavily Orthodox Jewish enclave of Midwood.
“If they have to bring in 200 cops to patrol our streets to show their visibility, that’s what has to be done,” the Democratic pol said of police.
Bennett, Deutsch, Councilman Kalman Yeger (D–Borough Park) and other Jewish leaders plan to meet Monday afternoon to identify security gaps for the upcoming Yom Kippur holy day Oct. 8 and 9.

Prominent Republicans criticized US President Donald Trump on Monday for adopting a policy that effectively abandons America’s Kurdish allies in Syria in the face of an imminent Turkish military onslaught.
Leading the charge against the president’s announcement was the former US ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, who highlighted the decisive role played by Kurdish military forces in the initial defeat of ISIS in Syria and Iraq more than two years ago.
“We must always have the backs of our allies, if we expect them to have our back,” Haley tweeted. “The Kurds were instrumental in our successful fight against ISIS in Syria. Leaving them to die is a big mistake.”

The United States reportedly began to withdraw its forces from northeastern Syria on Monday, ahead of an expected invasion by Turkey against Kurdish forces.
The White House announced the withdrawal on Sunday, following a call between U.S. President Donald Trump and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, eliciting alarm from the Syrian Kurds, whom Erdoğan considers to be terrorists.

Dozens of Palestinians rioted on Sunday night following the pilgrimage of some 1,000 Jews, under Israeli security escort, to Kever Yosef Hatzaddik in Shechem/Nablus to daven. The rioters threw firebombs and burning tires at security personnel.
Israeli security forces responded with riot dispersal methods.
There were no Israeli reports of casualties during the incident, however the P.A.’s Wafa news agency reported that seven rioters had been wounded after “Israeli forces escorted a convoy of buses packed with over a thousand fanatic Jewish settlers to the site, located in the Palestinian-controlled area, sparking confrontations with Palestinian residents.”

The Israel Defense Forces have set up a special engineering corps company to discover and prevent terror tunnels dug across Israel’s northern border from Lebanon.
The new company is intended to deal with the long-term threat from tunneling attempts by Hezbollah, Israeli news website Mako reported on Sunday. It will use cutting edge technology to do so, most of it tested on Hamas tunnels dug from Gaza, but adapted to the northern terrain, which is quite different.
The main tactic employed by the company is the use of new technology, and as a result is heavily invested in research and development.

President Trump late Sunday suggested that Speaker Nancy Pelosi was guilty of treason, and should be “immediately” impeached.
“Nancy Pelosi knew of all of the many Shifty Adam Schiff lies and massive frauds perpetrated upon Congress and the American people, in the form of a fraudulent speech knowingly delivered as a ruthless con, and the illegal meetings with a highly partisan ‘Whistleblower’ & lawyer,” he tweeted.
“This makes Nervous Nancy every bit as guilty as Liddle’ Adam Schiff for High Crimes and Misdemeanors, and even Treason. I guess that means that they, along with all of those that evilly ‘Colluded’ with them, must all be immediately Impeached!”

The United States began withdrawing American troops from Syria’s border with Turkey early Monday, in the clearest sign yet that the Trump administration was washing its hands of an explosive situation between the Turkish military and U.S.-allied Kurdish fighters.
The withdrawal followed a late Sunday statement by the White House that the United States would not intervene in a long-threatened Turkish offensive into northern Syria. The announcement, which signaled an abrupt end to a months-long American effort to broker peace between two important allies, came after a call between President Trump and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Erdogan said in a speech Monday that the withdrawal began soon after their phone call.

Democratic California Rep. Maxine Waters said that she feels “disgusted” by Republican senators who aren’t ready to impeach President Donald Trump during an appearance on MSNBC Sunday.
“I believe that in the final analysis that there are more people who care about the security of this country than the president,” Rep. Waters said on MSNBC’s “AM Joy.”
