Following the helicopter crash in eastern Iran on Sunday when the death of the mass murderer, the Butcher of Tehran, seemed likely but was not confirmed, someone posed an intriguing shaila to HaGaon HaRav Yitzchak Zilberstein. “Should one make a bracha of הטוב והמטיב upon hearing the news of the death of this enemy of […]

President Biden declared Sunday that things got “kind of bad” when he was vice president during the COVID-19 pandemic — even though the virus hit more than three years after he left office.
The 81-year-old Biden, who finished his eight years as Barack Obama’s veep in January 2017, suggested he was still in post at the time of the outbreak during a campaign event with the NAACP.
“When I was vice president, things were kind of bad during the pandemic and what happened was, Barack said to me, ‘Go to Detroit! Help fix it,’” Biden said.
“Well, the poor mayor, he’s spent more time with me than he ever thought he’s gonna have to!” the president added.

British authorities and the country’s public health service knowingly exposed tens of thousands of patients to deadly infections through contaminated blood and blood products, and hid the truth about the disaster for decades, an inquiry into the U.K.’s infected blood scandal found Monday. An estimated 3,000 people in the United Kingdom are believed to have […]

Hours after an International Criminal Court prosecutor sought arrest warrants for senior Israeli officials alongside Hamas terrorists, and after members of Congress denounced that decision, U.S. President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken released statements.
“The ICC prosecutor’s application for arrest warrants against Israeli leaders is outrageous,” the president said in a very terse statement. “Let me be clear: whatever this prosecutor might imply, there is no equivalence—none—between Israel and Hamas. We will always stand with Israel against threats to its security.”
Washington “fundamentally rejects” the announcement from the United Nations body in The Hague, Blinken wrote in a heftier statement.

The decision by the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court to seek arrest warrants for Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant “is beyond outrageous and shows the extent to which the international judicial system is in danger of collapsing, Israeli President Isaac Herzog said on Monday.
“Taken in bad faith, this one-sided move represents a unilateral political step that emboldens terrorists around the world, and violates all the basic rules of the court according to the principle of complementarity and other legal norms,” he said.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin committed Monday to keeping U.S. weapons moving to Ukraine as Kyiv faces one of its toughest moments against a renewed assault by Russia. Austin and as many as 50 defense leaders from Europe and around the world were meeting Monday to coordinate more military aid to Ukraine, as Kyiv tries to […]

When a small conference was held this spring in Israel’s heartland on the laws related to the Parah Adumah, both Hamas and Hezbollah posted the ad for the event on their Telegram pages.
Just months earlier, a Hamas spokesman in Gaza had chosen the 100th day of the Israel-Hamas war to cite the relocation of five red heifers to Israel from the Lone Star State as the reason for the Oct. 7 massacre.

Israeli politicians on Monday slammed the decision of the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Karim Khan, to issue arrest warrants for Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for “war crimes” along with the leaders of the murderous Hamas terror organization. Minister Benny Gantz said: “The State of Israel is […]

Target plans to cut prices on thousands of consumer basics this summer, from diapers to milk, as inflation cuts into household budgets and more Americans pay closer attention to their spending. The price cuts on as many as 5,000 food, beverage and household essential items announced Monday is a bid by Target to cater to […]

A consortium led by Milgam Ltd. won an auction on Sunday to purchase the Israel Postal Company with a bid of 461 million shekels ($125 million).
The figure is well below the estimated sale price of half a billion shekels.
The Israel Post will be fully transferred to the buyer in the coming months, according to the Israeli Communications Ministry.
The Israel Post has been caught up in a financial crisis since 2006, severely affecting service. The ministry decided on privatization to give it “freedom of action” to provide new services and adapt to the digital age.
“I congratulate Milgam on the win, and I hope that the privatization will be launched as soon as possible,” said Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi.

Former lawyer Michael Cohen admitted to stealing thousands of dollars from the Trump organization during former President Trump’s New York City trial on Monday. Cohen made the admission while facing cross examination from Todd Blanche, one of Trump’s attorneys. Cohen testified that he went to the bank and withdrew cash over a couple of days, […]

The Hamas terrorist organization has profited at least $500 million off humanitarian aid coming into the Gaza Strip since the start of the war on Oct. 7, according to a report that aired on Israel’s Channel 12 last week.
Veteran analyst Ehud Yaari, a fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, told the broadcaster on Thursday that, according to a calculation he made with “a friend—I don’t know if I’m allowed to mention his name,” Hamas earned “no less” than half a billion dollars from the aid.
“We provide [this] for them,” said the Arab affairs analyst, adding: “We need to start creating reality, instead of this fruitless discussion about what will happen the ‘day after’ [the war with Hamas ends].”
