The IDF says it has set up a medical facility inside southern Syria, next to the Druze village of Hader, to treat those wounded during sectarian violence in the country. “The facility is part of a number of efforts that the IDF is carrying out to support the Syrian Druze population, and to maintain their security,” the military says.

This morning, the IDF conducted airstrikes in southern Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah infrastructure, including a facility near Beaufort Castle used for rocket fire and defenses.

President Donald Trump stated on Wednesday that Iran essentially has two options when it comes to its nuclear ambitions—either dismantle its nuclear infrastructure in a controlled manner or risk a violent takedown.
Speaking with radio host Hugh Hewitt, Trump was asked whether the United States had presented Iran with a stark ultimatum: surrender its centrifuges and enriched uranium or face military action. Trump responded bluntly, “It’s that simple.”
He elaborated, saying, “I would much prefer a strong, verified deal where we actually blow them up… or just de-nuke them,” seemingly alluding to Iran’s uranium enrichment machinery.
“There are only two alternatives there, blow them up nicely or blow them up viciously,” Trump said emphatically.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, President Donald Trump addressed the rapidly intensifying hostilities between India and Pakistan, describing the situation as “so terrible” and pledging his willingness to step in if needed to help calm the crisis. “If I can do anything to ease the tensions,” he said, “I will be there.”
The escalation comes after India launched a missile strike into Pakistani-administered territory earlier in the day. Indian officials described the action as a direct response to a deadly assault last month in the Kashmir region, which left multiple tourists dead. They blame Pakistan for supporting the attackers behind the incident in Pahalgam—a charge the Pakistani government firmly denies.

The Trump administration is promising to fix the nationwide shortage of air traffic controllers after recent control tower mishaps and a string of crashes earlier this year. The need for more controllers who direct planes across increasingly crowded skies, though, isn’t a new issue or one that will be resolved quickly. How big is the shortage of controllers? The Federal Aviation Administration has about 14,000 air traffic controllers. More than 1,800 were hired last year, the largest number in nearly a decade, and the government is on track to hire even more this year. Still, there’s a need for about 3,000 more to fully staff the system. What are the impacts? Understaffing has meant controllers often are forced to work mandatory overtime, sometimes six days a week.

Police officers in helmets streamed into Columbia University Wednesday evening to remove a group of mask-clad protesters who staged a Pro-Palestinian demonstration inside the school’s main library. Videos shared on social media show a long line of NYPD officers entering the library hours after dozens of protesters pushed their way past campus security officers, raced into the building and then hung Palestinian flags and other banners on bookshelves in an ornate reading room. Some protesters also appear to have scrawled “Columbia will burn” across framed pictures. Other videos show campus security officers barring another group of protesters from entering the library, with both sides shoving to try and force the other group aside.

This week, as we study the parshiyos of Acharei Mos and Kedoshim, we are reminded of our sacred task as Jews navigating a turbulent world.
Parshas Kedoshim begins with a brief introduction: Hakadosh Boruch Hu tells Moshe to gather all of Klal Yisroel and instruct them to be kedoshim. The word kedoshim is commonly translated as “holy,” and the implication of the commandment is that we must all strive for holiness.
But what does it mean to be holy? What is expected of us?

When it comes to Medicaid, Rep. Juan Ciscomani is telling fellow Republicans he won’t support steep cuts that could hit thousands of residents in his Arizona district — “my neighbors, people my kids go to school with” — who depend on it. Republican Rep. Don Bacon, who represents the liberal-leaning “blue dot” of Omaha, Nebraska, is trying to protect several Biden-era green energy tax breaks. He’s warning colleagues that “you can’t pull the rug out from under” businesses that have already sunk millions of dollars into renewable developments in Nebraska and beyond. And for Republican Rep. Nick LaLota of New York, it’s simple: “No Salt. No Deal.
