They each had a yeshiva with ‘around-the-clock’ Torah learning, 24-hours a day, so that there would be no minute when the sound of Torah learning would not be heard in this world. The 24-hour period would be divided into shifts, and as one ended the next would begin. Not long after, Rogers returned to the microphone to reveal the joke.

“Enjoy your evening and Happy Liberation Day eve,” she added, alluding to President Trump’s looming April 2 tariff deadline.

U.S. District Judge Dale E. Ho dismissed the federal corruption case against New York City Mayor Eric Adams on April 1, 2025, siding with the Trump administration’s Justice Department in a decision that has roiled the city’s political landscape. The dismissal came after the Justice Department, under Acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove, moved in February to drop the five-count indictment, which accused Adams of accepting over $125,000 in illicit campaign funds and luxury perks from Turkish nationals aiming to sway his influence.

Former Biden administration Health Secretary Xavier Becerra on Wednesday became the latest Democrat to join the crowded field seeking to become California’s next governor, a contest that could be dramatically reshaped if former Vice President Kamala Harris becomes a candidate. The Stanford Law School graduate enters the race with a lengthy resume of government service, including stints as California attorney general, a U.S. House member and a state legislator. In December 2020, then-President-elect Joe Biden picked Becerra to lead the Department of Health and Human Services, putting a defender of the Affordable Care Act in a leading role to oversee his administration’s coronavirus response.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D) revealed in a recent interview that he gave former Vice President Kamala Harris a candid warning before joining her presidential ticket.
“I said about 90 percent of the time, I can be really good, but about 10 percent of the time, I can be a train wreck because I’m speaking from the heart, like a teacher sitting in a teachers lounge or a laborer sitting at the break table,” Walz shared with New York magazine when asked about his role on the campaign trail with Harris.
Harris’s decision to choose Walz as her vice-presidential candidate elevated him to the forefront of national politics.
