As part of the festive siyum to be held at the new Lakewood Cheder Hall on Motzoei Shabbos Parshas Tetzaveh, March 7, to mark the completion of Maseches Brachos, the first masechta in the Daf Yomi cycle, a comprehensive Daf Yomi Guide will be presented in honor of the occasion. The guide will be in the form of an attractive brochure that features Daf Yomi shiurim all around Lakewood, Jackson and Toms River with a brief description of each shiur.

In the world in which we live, truth is a rare commodity. Fiction, deviation, misinformation and half-truths are pervasive. The only way to have a real connection to the truth is by following the Torah. Mishpotim, the laws that govern finances, must have a basis in the Torah in order for them to be truthful and just.
In focusing on Parshas Yisro, which teaches us about Mattan Torah, and in Mishpotim, the parsha that follows, a theme emerges. The drama and glory of Maamad Har Sinai were an introduction to the laws governing how we deal with each other.

“Antisemitism and hatred of Jews is growing” in Germany, the mayor of Frankfurt warned on Wednesday.
Speaking in Tel Aviv at Muni Expo 2020, Mayor Uwe Becker posited, “What increases antisemitism is a lack of knowledge. People don’t know about Jewish life, young people in Germany know about hate and the Shoah, but they don’t know about normal Jewish life in the 21st century. The average Germany child learns that in 1933 Germans started killing Jews, and then by 1945 the war was over. Children don’t learn about Jewish life; they only know that Jews are victims.”
