The U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill unanimously on Monday that celebrates American Jewish achievements in science, sports, entertainment and government, among other areas.
“Just a few days after the conclusion of Jewish American Heritage Month, I proudly helped lead and pass this bipartisan legislation, which honors the great contributions our Jewish American community has made to our entire country,” stated Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D.N.J.), who led the legislation.
“From the arts to science to politics and more, our Jewish community has left an indelible impact on our country,” he said. “I am immensely proud to represent the Jewish American community—my community—in Congress.”

As hundreds of Jews descended on Amsterdam for an “emergency summit,” the head of the European Jewish Association on Monday called on Israel to prepare for a mass influx of immigrants as antisemitism skyrockets across the continent.
Rabbi Menachem Margolin, who had previously criticized Prime Minister Netanyahu for encouraging European Jewry to make aliyah, has, given the current situation, changed tack.
“Prime Minister Netanyahu, we are not there yet but be ready. Get your government agencies ready. Because if European governments carry on as they have so far, if they continue to tolerate this flood of Jew-hatred, they can expect hundreds and thousands of us to leave,” Margolin said in his address to open the summit.

Thousands upon thousands of people have had their lives changed by the book Living Chessed, in which Rabbi Avrohom Asher Makovsky shares many Torah sources that talk about chessed, inspirational insights and guidance and, above all, stories of how chessed – even something as small as a compliment, a smile, or a hug – can transform the lives of both the one giving and the one receiving the chessed. In brief, readable chapters, we will discover how everyone can be a great baal chessed.

On Sunday morning, a nine-justice panel at the High Court of Justice will hear petitions demanding immediate conscription of Charedi men to the IDF.
On Thursday, Israeli Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara came out in support of the petitions, writing in the state’s response that the government was acting “without authority,” “violating express rules of the court,” and “undermining the rule of law” in it’s attempts to deal with the new legal situation regarding Charedim and the draft.
The government has tried to get private representation in the High Court, instead of that of the attorney general, as she opposes the governments position.

Our hearts were broken from the terrible news that we heard on Thursday night. Shmuel Brog z”l, the beautiful, pure four-year-old son of our friend, Reb Avrohom Brog, passed away in a tragic car accident. There is nothing we can say to minimize the family’s suffering or assuage their unspeakable pain. All we can do is join them in their time of mourning and bereavement.
