New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ chief Jewish aide, Yoel Eisdorfer, is set to depart City Hall next month, according to a report from The Forward.
Eisdorfer, 43, a senior adviser and member of the Satmar kehillah in Borough Park, cited the demanding nature of the role and a desire to spend more time with his family as reasons for his decision to leave, as per the report.
He will continue to volunteer for Adams’ reelection campaign next year and will remain the chair of the mayor’s Jewish Advisory Council.
The Forward noted that Eisdorfer has played a key role in maintaining close ties between Israeli officials and Adams, a strong advocate for Israel. He was responsible for organizing the mayor’s first trip to Israel last August.

On Thursday morning, the Israeli Yated Ne’eman newspaper caused an uproar after its front page reported a “multi-casualty” incident in Gaza – before the incident was cleared for publication by the IDF.
[The Israeli Yated is not connected in any way to the American Yated Ne’eman.]
The Israeli Yated Ne’eman‘s front page boasted a red background with the words, “Not cleared for publication: A multi-casualty incident.” The newspaper with this headline was distributed before the incident was cleared for publication.
In the incident, five ‘Chetz’ soldiers were killed and a number of others were injured.
Frantic parents, desperate for news about their children, did not know where to turn to find out who the casualties were.

The Ministerial Committee for Legislation approved a charedi draft bill on Thursday first put forward by current Minister-without-Portfolio Benny Gantz in the previous government.
“To bridge the differences and bring about a broad consensus, Prime Minister Binyomin  Netanyahu decided to advance the conscription bill that passed the first reading in the previous Knesset,” the Prime Minister’s Office said on Wednesday.
“The bill was prepared by the defense establishment … and submitted by then-Defense Minister Benny Gantz,” it added.
The move was reportedly meant to prevent Gantz’s opposition. “The prime minister calls on all factions that supported the proposal in the previous Knesset to join the proposal,” the PMO said.

Days before a High Court deadline on submitting a bill for Charedi Israelis to be drafted to the IDF, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has released the text.
Not changing anything, Netanyahu submitted the bill passed in a first reading by the previous Knesset and drafted by War Cabinet Minister Benny Gantz.
“To bridge the differences and bring about a broad consensus, Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu decided to advance the conscription bill that passed the first reading in the previous Knesset (Amendment 26 to the Defense Service Law),” said a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.
