Security camera footage shown in court shows how an 18-karat gold toilet worth over $6 million was stolen from a British palace. The extravagant throne, a piece of conceptual art called ‘America’ by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan, was stolen in September 2019 after a gang with sledgehammers burst into Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Winston Churchill, in Oxfordshire, England.
The case is now being tried at Oxford Crown Court and, on Tuesday, jurors were shown surveillance footage of the crooks rolling the toilet out of the palace and into a waiting car.
The piece, a fully functioning toilet insured for $6 million, was never recovered and it is believed it was broken up shortly after being taken.

The surviving member of the Bibas family, Yarden, shared a poignant eulogy at Kibbutz Nir Oz on Wednesday for the burial of his wife, Shiri, and their two children, Ariel and Kfir who were murdered by the hands of Hamas terrorists in Gaza.
Yarden recalled his deep love for Shiri, remembering their first moments together and their bond as best friends, a wife, and a mother. He expressed deep sorrow and regret for not being able to protect them, especially during the tragic events on Oct. 7 when Gazans snatched them from their home.

City officials introduced a new system of retractable flood barriers along the East River on Monday, representing a significant step in safeguarding Lower Manhattan against future storms and protecting approximately 120,000 residents.
These barriers, designed to flip up when needed, are a crucial feature of the East Side Coastal Resiliency initiative. Extending three-quarters of a mile beyond the Brooklyn Bridge, they are part of the city’s broader strategy to reduce the risk of storm surges and flooding—dangers that became alarmingly evident when Superstorm Sandy struck in 2012.

Chris Christie, the former governor of New Jersey, appeared on ABC’s This Week on Sunday and described the Trump administration as operating like a “clown car.”

The conversation began when host Martha Raddatz introduced the topic of Elon Musk’s recent order to federal employees, asking them to list their achievements or face termination. “Can he do that?” Raddatz inquired.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) appeared on CNN’s State of the Union on Sunday, where he accused President Donald Trump of deliberately fostering extremism to confuse and mislead the American public.

Host Jake Tapper addressed the looming government shutdown, saying, “The government is hurtling towards a possible federal government shutdown now less than three weeks away.” He followed up by asking, “What is the strategy? Are House Democrats going to vote to keep the government open, or are you just going to let the Republicans be in charge of all of it?”

Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) appeared on NBC’s Meet the Press on Sunday, where he expressed his pride in the growing movement aimed at preventing President Donald Trump from continuing his actions.

Kamala Harris, the former Vice President, made her first significant public appearance since leaving the White House, delivering a speech that subtly criticized both President Trump and tech entrepreneur Elon Musk.
While accepting the NAACP Chairman’s Award at the 56th annual NAACP Image Awards, Harris painted a grim picture of the nation’s current state, urging the audience to remain hopeful despite the internal struggles within her own party as Trump made his return to the political scene.
