A dialysis patient has received a kidney transplant from a genetically engineered pig in a groundbreaking procedure, according to The New York Times. The first-of-its-kind surgery was carried out at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston last weekend and the patient is already able to walk and may soon be ready to be discharged, physicians told the Times.
The kidney was taken from a pig whose genes had been edited such that the donor organ would be less likely to be rejected by the human immune system.
The patient, Richard “Rick” Slayman, 62, had previously spent years on dialysis after his kidneys failed. He received a human kidney donation in 2018, but the organ failed and he resumed dialysis last year.

Things got tense during Wednesday’s House Oversight Committee hearing when squad Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez challenged Hunter Biden’s ex-business associate Tony Bobulinski to list Joe Biden’s crimes.

“Is it your testimony today that you personally witnessed President Joe Biden commit a crime?” Ocasio-Cortez asked.

During remarks at a reception honoring Women’s History Month in the East Room of the White House, Biden ignored his fifth granddaughter Navy Joan Roberts, a child First Son Hunter Biden had and ignored for many years.

Biden omitted Navy while talking about his “four granddaughters.”

 
“I see a future for all Americans, a future for my daughter and my four granddaughters,” Biden, who has five granddaughters, said.

Continuing to fight indictments in New York; Florida; Washington, D.C.; and Fulton County, Georgia, presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump taunted President Joe Biden to bring another indictment.
“Remember this: Joe Biden is a great threat to our democracy; he’s a tremendous threat to our democracy,” Trump told a Dayton, Ohio, rally.
“His incompetence is the No. 1 reason; also, he uses the Justice Department, the FBI to go after his political opponent — happens to be me. How are we doing?”
Trump hailed his polling numbers against Biden to be greater than ever before.
