A massive wave of Israeli airstrikes shook southern Gaza on Tuesday afternoon, with Palestinian media reporting intense bombardment near the European Hospital in Khan Younis. Israeli defense officials have since confirmed that the IDF, in coordination with the Shin Bet, conducted a precision strike targeting a Hamas underground command and control center buried beneath the hospital. The target, according to reports, was Muhammad Sinwar, the acting leader of Hamas in Gaza and brother of former chief Yahya Sinwar, who was killed by the IDF several months ago. It remains unknown whether Sinwar survived the strike, though initial assessments suggest the odds of survival are slim.

Disturbing details about the conditions that released hostage Edan Alexander endured in captivity in Gaza were revealed only hours after his release, Kan News reported. According to his initial testimony, Alexander endured severe torture in Gaza, mainly during lengthy interrogations, as well as physical violence and psychological terror. He was confined to a metal cage for an extended period of time, shackled by his hands and feet. When he was released, he required assistance to walk due to the long period he was shackled. He was deliberately starved while in captivity and endured extreme hunger. Iin recent months, as the Trump administration engaged in efforts for his release, he was provided with more food.

Edan Alexander, a 21-year-old Israeli-American soldier and the last known living U.S. citizen held hostage in Gaza, was handed over to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) by Hamas on Monday. The handover took place in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, and Alexander is now en route to Israeli territory. The release, the first since the collapse of a ceasefire in March, has sparked hope for renewed negotiations to free the remaining 58 hostages still held in Gaza. Hamas announced late Sunday that it had agreed to release Alexander following direct talks with the U.S. administration, facilitated by mediators Qatar and Egypt.

Israeli police arrested nine Jewish men on Monday after they attempted to bring a young goat onto Har HaBayis in what appears to have been an effort to bring a Korban Pesach on Pesach Sheini. The group, reportedly consisting of young men from Yerushalayim and Yehudah v’Shomron, was stopped near one of the entrances to Har HaBayis while carrying a goat hidden in a Rami Levy shopping bag. A confrontation ensued as the group tried to force their way past security forces stationed at the entrance. Footage of the incident shows one of the men chanting Shema as police restrained members of the group. A scuffle with a Muslim man near the gate was also captured in the video.

The Hamas terror organization on Monday morning announced that US-Israeli hostage Edan Alexander will be released on Monday, but did not disclose the time and location. The Trump administration is exploring the possibility that, following Alexander’s release, US special envoy Steve Witkoff will fly him and his parents to Qatar to meet President Trump, Ynet reported. However, such a scenario is dependent on Alexander’s condition upon his release. A hostage release ceremony will not be held before Alexander is handed over to the Red Cross, a Hamas official told AFP. IDF forces are preparing to secure a safe passage in Gaza for Alexander’s release. A senior Israeli source said: “We’re preparing to receive Edan Alexander sometime today.

Hamas is reportedly expected to announce the release of American-Israeli soldier Edan Alexander tonight. Hamas sources informed Qatar’s Al-Araby channel that negotiations for the release of American-Israeli hostage Edan Alexander are nearing completion. Alexander is believed to be the only living American hostage in Gaza. This follows a report from an Arab official to the Times of Israel, stating that Hamas is under pressure to free him unconditionally as a gesture of goodwill toward US President Donald Trump, who is visiting the region this week.

This is the number that the army can absorb.” “We will also implement heavy personal sanctions against individuals and institutions. The Hamas terror organization engaged in another act of psychological warfare on Shabbos, releasing a video of Elkana Bochbot and Yosef Chaim Ohana. Hamas previously released a video of the two on March 24 and released another video of just Bochbot on April 19. Bochbot, 34, a husband and father of a young son, was abducted from the Nova music festival. Ohana, 24, from Kiryat Malachi, was also abducted from Nova. When the attack began, Yosef Chaim and his friend began to flee the area. But when they encountered Israelis wounded by Hamas gunfire, the two, both trained as medics during their army service, stopped to help them. Eventually, they ran in different directions when they themselves were targeted by Hamas terrorists. His friend survived and Yosef Chaim was abducted.
