Joe Biden just signed two health-related executive orders in the Oval Office. He said the best way to describe the actions was “to undo the damage Trump has done.” He said there is nothing new in the orders. “This is going back to what the situation was prior to the [former] president’s executive orders,” Biden said. The two actions: End the Mexico City policy, also known as the “global gag rule”. This policy bans foreign non-government groups that receive US funding from providing abortions or from providing information about abortions. Robinhood removed GameStop, AMC, BlackBerry, and Nokia from its trading platform on Thursday, leaving investors unable to buy the highly volatile stocks. The discount brokerage informed clients they can close out positions in the affected stocks but cannot purchase additional shares, according to numerous screenshots shared on Twitter. The stocks that were removed have all surged in recent trading sessions as day-traders united in Reddit forums like WallStreetBets frenetically buy the names to push their share prices higher. The phenomenon has already fueled massive losses for numerous hedge funds and caught the attention of regulators and the White House.

The following important alert was provided to YWN by the Chaim V’Chessed Organization: Numerous people are finding themselves stranded in Israel, as flights to and from Israel continue to be grounded, due to the strict lockdown. The government has announced that special flights will leave Israel to Frankfurt, Germany, with the belief that travelers to other locations will be able to travel onward from there. However, as flights from Germany are extremely limited, this is not an ideal option for most US-bound travelers. Chaim V’Chessed, along with the outstanding Amudim organization, was involved in arrangements for an emergency which departed to JFK airport last night. We are now exploring the possibility of emergency flights to the USA at the beginning of next week (approximately Jan.

The New York State attorney general accused the Cuomo administration of undercounting coronavirus-related deaths at nursing homes by as much as 50 percent, according to a report released on Thursday. The count of deaths in state nursing homes has been a source of controversy for Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo and state Health Department officials, who have been sensitive to any suggestion that they played any role in the number of nursing home deaths, which the state put at more than 8,500. They have also been accused of obscuring a more accurate estimate of nursing home deaths, because the state only counted deaths at the actual facilities, rather than including deaths of residents who were transferred to a hospital and died there.

Residents of Bnei Brak were surprised to see tons of fresh fruit and vegetables delivered to the halls of Be’er Miriam in the city which were earmarked for free distribution to the residents. The benefactor of the delivery was a secular woman named Ricki Levitt, who had heard about the recent demonization of the residents of the city due to the Covid-19 controversy that has been plaguing the city this past week. Levitt decided to do something to show some Ahavas Chinam. The way that the residents of the city have been portrayed over the past week in the media hurt Levitt, so she enlisted the help of farmers from Kibbutz Alumim, Sa’ad, and the city of Netivot, who all donated huge amounts of produce to be distributed to families who have been blessed with lots of children in the city.

In a shocking post entitled This Is What A Collapse Looks Like, MDA paramedic Aharon Adler describes the horrifying situation in recent days in Israel’s hospitals. “A little after eight in the morning, we’re called to the bedside of a coronavirus patient with serious breathing difficulties. The patient is in the emergency underground coronavirus ward. As we make our way to the ward, we hear ambulance after ambulance approaching the hospital, seeking to evacuate its patients that were sent far from their cities to hospitals in central Israel – to Ichilov, Beilinson, Sheba – but no, they’re also full now.” “The call center informs us that even if our patient is in life-threatening danger, we can’t admit him to any hospital in Jerusalem.

A day after a coronavirus patient died in an ambulance after all the hospitals in Jerusalem refused to accept her due to lack of room, a Channel 12 News report on Monday said that over 200 ambulances with virus patients had to wait for several hours outside hospitals while staff scrambled to free up beds. When patients were finally admitted, some found themselves in beds in the emergency room rather than the coronavirus ward – simply because the emergency room was the only place empty beds could be found, the report said. On Sunday, MDA commissioner Eli Bin told Army Radio that an elderly nursing home resident suffering severe respiratory difficulties passed away on Sunday after no hospital in Jerusalem agreed to accept her due to lack of room.
