Two Bochrim were airlifted after a hiking accident in Colorado on Wednesday. Sources tell YWN that the two Bochrim were part of a small learning camp that went on an outing to “Saint Mary’s Glacier”, which is a semi-permanent snowfield located in Arapaho National Forest in Colorado. Two of the boys reportedly slipped on snow, causing serious injuries. A medevac was called, and the boys were airlifted to a trauma center. One reportedly suffered a femur fracture, and a second boy suffered a broken pelvis. They are reportedly in stable condition. There are currently hundreds of Yeshiva Bochrim in Colorado on Bain Hazmanim trips. One flight from Newark Airport this past Sunday morning had nearly 100 Bochrim on it.

Mayor DeBlasio said NYC would start implementing checkpoints across the five boroughs to help enforce Gov. Cuomo’s quarantine order for travelers from viral hotspots, citing the ongoing national COVID threat. The measure announced Wednesday is the first significant effort by NYC specifically to help enforce the 14-day quarantine for travelers from 34 states and Puerto Rico. In revealing it, de Blasio said the state was “absolutely right” to impose the travel restriction in the first place. Cuomo announced it in late June. Joe Biden is pushing back at Republican assertions that he should take a cognitive test to disprove President Donald Trump’s claim that the Democrat isn’t fit for the Oval Office. Biden grew testy when CBS News correspondent Errol Barnett asked the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee about the matter in a recent interview. “No, I haven’t taken a test? Why the hell would I take a test?” Biden said. He then told Barnett: “That’s like saying … before you got on this program, you’re taking a test whether you’re taking cocaine or not. What do you think? Huh? Are you a junkie?” The former vice president, who is 77, also tried to turn the matter back around on the 74-year-old president in the latest jousting over the two men’s fitness for office.

A discussion on the opening of Israel’s skies was held at a meeting of the Knesset’s coronavirus cabinet on Tuesday “Our statistics are worsening,” said Dr. Asher Salmon, the director of the Health Ministry’s International Relations Department. “Our infection rate is ten times the threshold of a ‘green country’ and we have a long way to go. We’re not implementing restrictions for Israel but because of the restrictions of the European Union we cannot enter EU countries.” “We’re formulating an outline for tourists to enter Israel from ‘green countries‘ and at the next coronavirus cabinet meeting, an outline for Israeli travelers will be presented.

Following the announcement by the Chief Rabbi of Ukraine, Rav Yaakov Bleich, that the Ukrainian government will allow 5,000 people to visit Uman for Rosh Hashanah, a health ministry official said on Tuesday that Israelis should not be allowed to travel to Uman in light of Israel’s current high coronavirus infection rate and both Ukrainian and Israeli authorities should put an end to the plan. The discussion took place at a meeting of the Knesset’s coronavirus cabinet as part of a discussion regarding the opening of Israel’s skies. “Our professional position is that it’s out of the question to allow this event to take place due to the gathering of 30,000 people on a street and a half,” said Dr.

A caricature published in Haaretz on Tuesday, drawn by its in-house caricaturist Amos Biderman, shows an image of a Chareidi man in Ben-Gurion Airport (which some say is meant to resemble Housing Minister Yaakov Litzman), returning from New York, with his luggage carrying the coronavirus. “Amos Biderman, you should be ashamed. And the newspaper that published it should be taken out of circulation,” responded MK Yaakov Margi (Shas). “Even the Der Stürmer [virulently anti-Semitic Nazi propaganda publication] couldn’t have made it more anti-Semitic,” said MK Bezalel Smotrich (Yamina). “A sad reminder to the dark days of Europe,” wrote Hebrew Mishpacha editor and political commentator Yossi Elituv. “Bearded Jews spreading diseases and endangering the nation.” “Disgusting!
