Reuven Lediansky, who is running for mayor of the city while waging war on Chareidim and Datiim, published a post last week slamming a Chabad chassid and dubbing him a missionary. Lediansky is at the forefront of fighting against everything or anyone related to religion in the city of Tel Aviv, including a Yom Ha’atzmaut tefillah due to the use of mechitzos [despite allowing an Islamic prayer event with mechitzos] and the promised use of a building for Yeshivas Ma’ale Eliyahu. Lediansky, who served as deputy mayor of Tel Aviv until he was fired from his position by Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai earlier this month, reposted a video of a mother verbally attacking the Chabadnik and telling him to “get out of here.” He wrote: “Huldai is abandoning our children to Chabad missionaries!!

A group of leftist anarchists arrived in a residential area of Modiin on Tuesday morning at 5:30 a.m. and made a huge racket outside the home of Justice Minister Yariv Levin, blaring horns, megaphones and drums, burning tires in the middle of the street, and blocking the entrance to the parking lot of the building with barbed wire. Despite pleas from Levin and his neighbors, the police took an hour and a half to show up. The protesters refused police orders and even surrounded the police car and started confrontations with the officers. In response, the police used tear gas to disperse the crowd and arrested six protesters for violating public order. Even after the arrests, the protesters stormed the police car, blocking it from leaving the street with the detained protesters.

In a late-night response, Donald Trump claimed that special counsel Jack Smith, working with the DOJ and FBI, “illegally leaked and ‘spun’ a tape and transcript” of him to CNN, which he said “is actually an exoneration”. The former president responded to the tapes – which appear to have been leaked to most major media outlets – on his Truth Social platform. A spokesperson for the Trump campaign released the following statement: “The audio tape provides context proving, once again, that President Trump did nothing wrong at all. The President is speaking rhetorically and also quite humorously about a very perverted individual, Anthony Weiner, who was deep inside the corrupt Clinton campaign.

Boro Park Shomrim members urgently responded Monday night for a report of a victim that was robbed by a group of four individuals in the area of Ditmas Ave. and E. 7th Street. A Shomrim member heading to the scene recognized the group the victim had described about a block away and began to follow them as additional Shomrim members responded and police were alerted. The member, and others converging on the area, maintained visual observation of the group as they sauntered along Boro Park’s streets looking for additional victims. When they reached the area of Newkirk and Ocean Parkway near E. 8th, Shomrim members witnessed them carrying out another two knifepoint robberies, including one of a 90-year-old. At that point, the NYPD was arriving at the scene, sending the perps fleeing.

The Shin Bet revealed on Sunday evening that a rocket was discovered in an east Jerusalem neighborhood on Yom Yerushalayim last month. IDF forces found the rocket during the Jerusalem Flag March, which is held every year under threats of rocket attacks by Palestinian terror groups. In 2021, Hamas launched rockets at Jerusalem on Jerusalem Day, triggering Operation Guardian of the Walls. The rocket was found in an open area of the Beit Hanina neighborhood in Jerusalem, a short distance past the security barrier, and a suspect was arrested in a joint investigation of the incident by the Shin Bet and IDF. The suspect, Abdel Hakim Buatna, a resident of the Palestinian Authority town of Ajul, was interrogated for the alleged intent to launch rockets at Jerusalem during the Flag March.

Despite facing federal charges in early June, former President Donald Trump remains the leading candidate for the Republican Party, according to a recent poll. However, nearly half of GOP voters surveyed express skepticism about whether Trump should continue to lead the party. A new NBC poll reveals that a majority of Republican voters would vote for Trump in the Republican primary, with 51% listing him as their top choice. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis secured second place with 22% of the votes, followed by former Vice President Mike Pence with 7%. These latest numbers are in comparison to a previous survey conducted in April, shortly after Trump’s indictment in New York related to hush-money payments made in 2016.

The radical far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party with a history of antisemitic rhetoric saw its first head of a county administration elected Sunday in a rural eastern region, a win that comes as national polls show its support at record levels. A runoff election in Sonneberg county pitted Alternative for Germany’s candidate, Robert Sesselmann, against center-right rival Jürgen Köpper. Official figures showed Sesselmann, who had been well ahead in the first round two weeks ago, winning by 52.8% to 47.2%. Sonneberg has a relatively small population of 56,800, but the win is a symbolic milestone for Alternative for Germany, or AfD. The 10-year-old party has been polling between 18% and 20% in national surveys lately.

The New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has introduced new regulations aimed at reducing carbon emissions from eateries that utilize wood and coal-fired ovens, potentially slashing emissions by up to 75%, the New York Post reports. The DEP, in collaboration with restaurant and environmental justice groups, said it developed the new rule in collaboration with restaurant and “environmental justice” groups to address the harmful pollutants emitted by such ovens, particularly in areas with poor air quality. The proposed regulation may necessitate restaurants that have installed wood and coal-fired ovens before May 2016 to invest in expensive emission-control devices.

In a recently published national survey, the non-partisan Jewish Electorate Institute (JEI) unveiled key insights into the attitudes and preferences of Jewish voters in 2023 – and surprisingly, they overwhelmingly support Joe Biden and Democrats’ policies. One of the notable findings of the survey is that Jewish voters remain deeply engaged with the cultural issues that currently divide the nation. Issues such as democracy, abortion, guns, inflation, and climate change hold significant importance for them. In particular, abortion – which is assur in most cases – stands out as a defining issue, with a striking 88% of Jewish voters believing it should be legal, a sad commentary on the state of Jewish religiosity in the United States, as well as values like the sanctity of life.

Israel’s Mossad on Sunday evening confirmed the Cypriot reports earlier Sunday about a thwarted Iranian attack against Israeli and Jewish targets on the island. Channel 12 News reported that the targets of the Iranian assassination squad included the local Chabad house, an Israeli real estate magnate living in Cyprus, and a number of hotels and tourist venues popular with Israelis. The members of the cell arrived on the island on direct flights from Russia and met in northern Cyprus – the Turkish side of the divided island, and eventually moved to the southern Greek side of the island. Cypriot intelligence agents monitored the members of the terror squad for several months. According to Phile News, the attack was thwarted with the assistance of Israeli and US intelligence services.
