The untimely passing of father-of-7 Avraham Gelbman was widely reported on last week byJewish news publications around the world. Readers were moved by the tragedy: Avraham was a Hatzolah and ZAKA volunteer who for years had dedicated himself to responding to emergency situations and saving lives. In a shocking twist, he had a heart attack while driving and passed away in a car crash. He was announced dead at the scene. The Beit Shemesh and Hatzolah communities were deeply shaken.  Though the initial incident made headlines, however, the story continues on. Some would say that the greatest tragedy of all is what has unfolded since his passing: Yehudis Gelbman is now a widowed mother of 7.

The heart that pulsated with ahavas haTorah, ahavas Hashem and ahavas talmidim ceased to beat. It was hard to fathom. How could it be? What was there to say? It was just a number of months ago that Yeshiva Gedola of Montreal, a bastion of Torah in Québec’s largest city, launched its Beacon Through Time campaign to mark 50 years of dedication to the yeshiva by the rosh yeshiva, Rav Shimon Zeffren.

Campaign Aims to Restore What Was Lost in Devastating School Fire By Avi Shiff South Fallsburg. The name itself conjures up images of a self-contained shtetel, a secluded community perpetuating the timeless mesorah of its founder. The name represents Torah being lived and taught in purity in the serene and invigorating atmosphere of the Catskill Mountains. The founding rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Gedolah Zichron Moshe of South Fallsburg, NY, was Rav Tzvi Abba Gorelick zt”l, who lived a life largely away from the limelight, with few people gaining a glimpse of the true greatness of a person who gave up so much physically and materially to bring about kevod Shomayim. Later he was joined by ybl”c Rav Elya Ber Wachtfogel shlit”a.

As The known R’ Chaim Vital has said this segulah has brought yeshuos “thousands of times”. WHERE DOES THIS POWERFUL AND POTENT SEGULAH COME FROM?  Reb Chaim Vital performed this renowned pidyon twice a year, for himself. he writes in his sefer Pri Eitz Chaim “Thousands of times this segulah has been tried and proven“.  While the Arizal revealed this powerful pidyon, it was the holy Reshash who instructed us how to perform it, The Reshash wrote that one should set aside 160 pure silver coins, recite special kabalistic tefilos, and donate these coins to talmidei chachamim who are moser nefesh to learn Torah.  The 160 coins, equivalent to the numerical value of “eitz,” symbolize man who is likened to a tree, an “eitz” hasadeh.
