Rav Meir Zvi Bergman, rosh yeshiva Rashbi in Bnei Brak and senior member of the Moetzes Gedoleio Hatorah of Degel Hatorah, delivered a strong rebuke regarding the conscription of yeshiva students into the Israeli Defense Forces.
Addressing a gathering of roshei yeshiva, Rav Bergman, son-in-law Maran Rav Elazar Menachem Man Shach zt”l, stated, “Everyone knows that even one day that a boy is in the army is truly destruction. The entire war now is a war for the King, for Hakadosh Boruch Hu.
“We must know that it is forbidden to cooperate with them.”
Criticizing Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, Rav Bergman remarked, “Then one foolish guy comes and sends out draft orders. We are obligated to sacrifice our lives for this.”

Camp Malka has encountered significant difficulties in commencing its summer program this year and has now announced that it will only be opening for a limited number of campers.
Initially, the camp’s campus – located on Ingalside Road in Greenville, NY – was under preparation, but failed to be ready in time for the scheduled start date.
In an effort to manage the delay, the camp postponed the start time by a week and temporarily placed campers in a hotel in the Poconos. However, this arrangement proved unsuccessful, with many girls having to sleep in their clothes and on the floor. Subsequently, the site was shut down by police for safety reasons.

Maran Rav Dov Landau, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Slabodka in Bnei Brak, has issued a directive to yeshiva bochurim advising them not to report to IDF conscription offices, emphasizing that they should not comply “not even after the initial summons.”
This instruction from Rav Landau was conveyed in a letter addressed to yeshiva students, which was published in Thursday’s edition of the Israeli Yated Ne’eman.
“We cannot depend on agreements and understandings with military leaders, as their actions are constrained by legal rulings, and any compliance with court decrees amounts to acquiescing in their battle against Hashem and His Torah,” wrote Rav Landau in the letter.

It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rebbetzin Sarah Schlesinger a”h. She was the wife of Rav Shmuel Akiva Schlesinger of Strasbourg, France.

The Rebbetzin was the mother of Rav Yisroel Dovid Schlesinger, rov of Khal Shaarei Tefillah of Monsey, and Rav Shea Schlesinger, rov of Kehilas Bais Avrohom of Monsey.

The levayah was held Wednesday afternoon in Yerushalayim, with kevurah on Har Hamenuchos.

Rav Yehuda Deri zt”l, the chief rabbi of Beer Sheva and brother of Shas party leader Aryeh Deri, was niftar on Tuesday at the age of 66. The levayah is scheduled for 8 p.m. in Yerushalayim.
Rav Deri was niftar at Hadassah Ein Karem Medical Center in Yerushalayim due to complications from an infection that led to his hospitalization last month. His condition had gradually worsened over the past 24 hours.
Aryeh Deri described his late brother as “the leader of a tremendous revolution of Torah and Yiddishkeit, a vigilant keeper of kashrus who redeemed many from sin.” He added that Rav Yehuda “with his pleasant conduct and eloquence knew how to lead his listeners to love Yiddishkeit.”

Rav Gershon Ribner, rosh kollel of Kollel Nesivos Hatorah and son-in-law of Rav Shneur Kotler, has succeeded in applying classical Talmudical analysis and methodology to understanding all areas of Yiddishkeit, bringing out its profundity and sense.

The trial of Rabbi Osher Eisemann, beloved founder of SCHI in Lakewood, NJ, and noted baal chesed and tzaddik, is scheduled to commence today with jury selection, as he faces charges of money facilitation and corruption of a corporate official.
The prosecution has chosen not to indict Rabbi Eisemann on the alleged underlying crimes, instead focusing on the fallout charge of money facilitation – indicating that they know he did not commit any underlying crime.
