Last night, President Joe Biden emphasized the need for a “pause” in the Israel-Hamas conflict to facilitate the release of “prisoners.” Speaking at a campaign reception in Minnesota, Biden responded to a protester’s question by stating, “I think we need a pause.” When asked to clarify what a pause meant, he explained, “A pause means give time to get the prisoners out. Give time.”
Efforts to secure the release of 239 hostages, including children and the elderly, have been ongoing since the October 7 terrorist attack by Hamas, resulting in the loss of approximately 1,400 lives in Israel. Following Hamas’s breach of Israel’s border wall, other groups from Gaza also took additional captives.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas unveiled startling statistics during a national security hearing on Capitol Hill on Tuesday. He revealed that over 600,000 individuals entered the United States without encountering border agents during the 2023 fiscal year. Mayorkas emphasized that this challenge of “gotaways” has persisted at the border for many years.
Mayorkas acknowledged, “The phenomenon of gotaways is something that has been a challenge for the department of homeland security for decades.” He went on to underscore, “In fact, it is a powerful example of a broken immigration system.”

Over the past day, Israeli fighter jets struck over 250 Hamas terror targets in the Gaza Strip, including terror infrastructure, operational command centers, tunnel shafts and rocket launchers placed in the heart of civilian areas that fired toward Israeli territory throughout the war, according to the Israel Defense Forces.
In addition, Israeli naval forces struck a Hamas surface-to-air missile launch post in the Khan Yunis area. The post is located adjacent to a mosque and kindergarten, according to the military.

Chris defends Israel’s reaction to the terrorist attack by Hamas and explains that his priorities would be to rescue hostages, a retaliatory response against Hamas to deter a future attack from happening again and then to restart conversations for a more peaceful resolution.
