A recent viral TikTok trend involving Fruit Roll-Ups has led to a sharp increase in the demand for the fruity snacks, especially in countries such as Israel, where they’re not so easy to obtain. The trend is simply placing a scoop of ice cream on an unwrapped Fruit Roll-Up, which immediately becomes hard and crunchy, and then wrapping it up and eating it. It may seem silly and banal that’s exactly what almost all TikTok trends are. Although Fruit Roll-Ups are sold in Israel, they’re available only in select stores and are costly. But the TikTok trend has now made them even more costly and difficult to obtain, with black-market prices at NIS 40 for just one roll-up, according to a Walla News report. US travelers are apparently trying to cash in on the trend.

Devorah Paley, the mother of Ushi and Yaakov, h’yd, who were killed in the Ramot terror attack, recently found a short video of her boys on her camera. The video of Ushi, z’l, being mevateir [giving in] to his younger brother Yaakov, is quite apropos for the days of Sefiras HaOmer and Devorah publicized the video and an accompanying message. Devorah wrote: “We don’t take a lot of pictures, we haven’t had a good camera in a while. I don’t even remember taking this…so uncharacteristic of me. And yet – we found this video, such a special memento!” “I look at you, such sweet children – and thank Hashem for this gift – a real moment of Yiddishe nachas – and this is the moment Hakadosh Baruch chose to keep for us.” “It could have looked different.

In a terrifying incident later described as “miraculous,” a police officer in the Washington, D.C., suburbs was lucky to escape with his life after an out-of-control vehicle came spinning towards him as he conducted an unrelated traffic stop. Footage of the incident, captured on the officer’s police cruiser camera, shows the officer going through his protocols after stopping a BMW that had been speeding on the Fairfax County Parkway. As he spoke to the driver from the passenger side, another BMW is seen careening towards him from across the median at a blistering 120 mph. The spinning BMW strikes the larger sedan and then spins into the police officer’s vehicle. The officer, caught in between, somehow manages to get out of the way without being clobbered.

Russian authorities accused Ukraine on Wednesday of attempting to attack the Kremlin with two drones overnight in an effort to assassinate President Vladimir Putin. The Kremlin decried the alleged attack attempt as a “terrorist act” and said Russian military and security forces stopped the drones before they could strike. In a statement carried by Russian state-run news agencies, it said no casualties took place. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Russia’s state news agency RIA Novosti that Putin wasn’t in the Kremlin at the time and was working from the Novo-Ogaryovo residence. The Kremlin added that Putin was safe and his schedule was unchanged. There were no immediate comment from Ukrainian authorities.

A fire ripped through the “Paradise manor” Simcha hall in Boro Park, Tuesday evening. The fire started just after 7:00PM at the hall, located at 5802 New Utrecht Avenue near 58th Street. Shortly after the FDNY arrived, they requested a second alarm response, due to the heavy fire conditions inside the hall. Around 20 minutes later, a third alarm response was requested. A fourth alarm was requested at 8:20PM, as additional FDNY manpower was still needed to fight the blaze. The FDNY tells YWN that the structure is a “three story mix used building with two residential units and one commercial unit.” The fire originated on the second floor and extended onto the third floor. Boro Park Hatzolah and Boro park Shomrim were on the scene as well. No injuries were reported.

Is there anything she doesn’t lie about, deflect, or refer to someone else? White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre made a doozy of a comment to reporters during a briefing Monday, claiming that “when it comes to illegal migration, you’ve seen it come down by more than 90 percent.” 90%! What an accomplishment. If only it were true. “False,” Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin commented on a clip of the remark. “There was a window of time earlier this year where encounters with Venezuelans, Nicaraguans, and Cubans did temporarily dip 90% after a policy change, but other countries, like China, shot up over 800%. Illegal crossings, including Venezuelans, back at peak highs now.” And in direct contradiction to her half-brained and obviously false comment, U.S.

In a recent interview with Fox News’ Mark Levin, former US President Donald Trump spoke regarding the origins of the Covid-19 pandemic. Trump shifted from blaming China’s incompetence for the virus to suggesting that the Chinese government intentionally released the virus to sabotage his reelection campaign in 2020. During the interview, Trump expressed frustration that he did not receive enough credit for his administration’s handling of the pandemic. He then claimed that he was one of the first people to suggest that the virus may have originated from a lab leak in China. Trump then went on to suggest that China may have intentionally released the virus in order to retaliate against his administration’s heavy-handed economic policy.

A windstorm in south-central Illinois kicked up dangerous clouds of dust off farm fields Monday, blinding drivers and causing numerous crashes and “multiple fatalities” on Interstate 55, police said. The late morning crashes involved 40 to 60 cars and multiple tractor-trailers, two of which caught fire, Illinois State Police Maj. Ryan Starrick said. The highway was shut down in both directions in Montgomery County, 75 miles (120 kilometers) north of St. Louis. “The cause of the crashes is due to excessive winds blowing dirt from farm fields across the highway, leading to zero visibility,” Starrick said at a news conference. He reported that there were “multiple fatalities” but did not give an exact number, saying that would be released later in the day.
