The heroic rescue of a woman trapped under her couch after an explosion in the Bronx was captured by NYPD officers’ body cameras. The video footage shows the officer racing directly into the chaos to rescue a 68-year-old woman who had been injured in the blast, believed to have been sparked by a gas leak. “We saved lives today. Our actions saved lives,” Mayor Eric Adams, a former NYPD officer, said at the scene. “When you see the bodycam video, you’re going to see the quick response of the officers going into the building next door from the explosion, not realizing if there would be an additional explosion, but they went inside and carried out a woman who was trapped inside.”

Israel said Tuesday it has successfully tested a system designed to intercept ballistic missiles outside the earth’s atmosphere. The Arrow Weapon System is part of an array of missile defenses Israel has developed in recent years to protect itself in any future conflict with archenemy Iran or regional militant groups, such as the Lebanese Hezbollah or the Palestinian Hamas in the Gaza Strip, both allies of Iran. The Defense Ministry said the system detected the target and fired two Arrow 3 interceptors at it, calling the mission a success.

Double standard or antisemitism? A cashier at a convenience store was caught on video denying service to a Hasidic Jew who wasn’t wearing a mask, while at the same time allowing another customer who supposedly had a mask in his pocket be serviced. In the video, the Jewish man asks the cashier, “Because I’m a Jew I’m not getting served?” “I didn’t say that,” she responds. “I asked you to get a mask.” The man points out that another customer isn’t wearing a mask either, but she says that “he has it in his pocket” so it’s okay. The Jewish man then notes how illogical her argument is but she doesn’t budge, saying she won’t argue about it and he has to get a mask to be served. Sources tell YWN that this took place in the last gas station in the U.S.

After a woman was pushed to her death in front of a New York City subway train beneath Times Square over the weekend, Mayor Eric Adams acknowledged to reporters Tuesday that even he didn’t feel entirely safe riding the rails. The Democrat recounted when he rode the train on Jan. 1, not long after taking the oath of office, he called 911 to report a fight near a subway station, encountered a yelling passenger and another passenger sleeping on a train. “On day one, I took the subway system, I felt unsafe. I saw homeless everywhere. People were yelling on the trains. There was a feeling of disorder. So as we deal with the crime problem, we also have to deal with the fact people feel unsafe,” he said.
