A British Airways jet’s tail struck the runway at Heathrow Airport in London as it attempted to land as Storm Corrie lashed the region with winds up to 92 mph. The incident occurred on Monday as the plane came in for landing at Heathrow carrying passengers from Aberdeen. Terrifying footage shows the aircraft nearly flipping as high winds strike it, and as the pilot pulls back, the tail strikes the tarmac, forcing the pilot to pull the plane back into the air, circle back around, and attempt landing a second time. The plane eventually landed safely, and no injuries were reported. “Our pilots are highly trained to manage a range of scenarios, including extreme weather conditions, and our flight crew landed the aircraft safely,” a British Airways spokesman said.

During a press conference discussing his upcoming meeting with President Biden regarding combatting gun violence in NYC, Mayor Eric Adams praised the president and claimed to be his favorite mayor. “This is a great city, and I’m the Biden of Brooklyn. And I love the fact that the president is coming here. I met with him after the campaign, and we spoke and we just connected, you know,” Adams said. “And I’m sure if you were to ask him [who] is his favorite mayor, he’d clearly tell you, ‘It’s Eric,” he said, smiling. “We just really like each other. … You know, we just got to hang out together, you know. That’s my dude,” Adams added. When asked why he was lavishing praise on Biden, Adams said it was because he was an “ordinary Joe.” “We just like these blue-collar guys,” Adams said.

Whoopi Goldberg, a co-host on ABC’s “The View,” asserted that the Holocaust was “not about race” despite the uncomfortable fact that it entailed the systematic killing of six million Jews. Her sickening comment came during a segment in which the The View’s panelists were discussing a Tennessee school district removing a Pulitzer Prize winning graphic novel about the Holocaust from its curriculum. One of the panelists, Sunny Hostin, wondered aloud whether banning the book would eventually lead to stopping educators from teaching children about the Holocaust. “The Holocaust isn’t about race,” Goldberg said, stunning her co-panelists. “No, it’s not about race.” “What is it about?” another panelist, Joy Behar, asked.

As YWN reported last week, some Lev Tahor members have taken residence in Sarajevo, in the latest of a series of destinations since leaving Guatemala. Neighbors of the cult members told local media that they are perturbed by the cult members’ presence in their vicinity and they want them removed from the area. Meanwhile, at least one young local resident decided to befriend the cult members. In a video obtained by B’Chadrei Chareidim he’s seen talking to the cult leaders in English and offering to assist them with whatever they need, adding that many locals and the media are saying negative things about them but he personally doesn’t believe them.

With thousands of Jews in Florida for midwinter break, many were stunned to see a group of individuals in Orlando wearing Nazi-affiliated attire, carrying flags emblazoned with swastikas, and performing Nazi salutes. The Neo-Nazis were seen in more than one location over the past 24 hours. One location was an overpass on Interstate 4 in Orlando between exit 68 and 69. Thousands of Jews were passing underneath this overpass and subject to the hate. Some in the group held signs says “Vax the Jews” and harassed passing cars, hurling antisemitic slurs and epithets. One sign read “Let’s Go Brandon”, a comment used by supporters of Former President Trump to take a swipe at President Biden.

As Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas visited Border Patrol agents, a tense exchange ensued between the agents and Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz. “I do think that we’re losing too many agents,” Ortiz said. “As an organization, we gotta start taking care of each other.” “I get it. You come to work, you’re frustrated. You’re upset because you didn’t get the desired outcome that you want. Doesn’t mean you give up,” he continued. After an agent said they weren’t giving up, Ortiz said, “I know you’re not. That’s why I’m saying, we don’t give up. We stay focused, we continue to do the job and the mission that we signed up for. We all signed up for it, we all raised our hand.” But then things got heated. “It’s kinda hard to say that when…” an agent began.

Former President Donald Trump is dangling the prospect of pardons for supporters who participated in the deadly Jan. 6 riots if he returns to the White House. “If I run and if I win, we will treat those people from January 6th fairly,” Trump said Saturday night during a rally in Conroe, Texas. “And if it requires pardons, we will give them pardons because they are being treated so unfairly.” More than 700 people have been arrested and charged with federal crimes in connection with the riot, marking the largest investigation in the Justice Department’s history.

Knesset Speaker Mickey Levy’s emotional recitation of Kaddish at the German Parliament on Thursday made headlines around the world. However, many religious and traditional Israelis condemned Levy for not wearing a yarmulke while representing Israel and the Jews and reciting a religious prayer. Levy addressed the criticism against him in an interview with Channel 12 News on Motzei Shabbos, saying: “I spoke briefly prior to the ceremony and I put on a kippah. When I arrived at the ceremony itself I was emotional after meeting a Holocaust survivor [and forgot to put the kippah back on]. It’s not necessary to teach me what responsibility is, I come from a religious home. It happened because I was overly emotional.” And sure enough, there is a photo of Levy wearing a kippah while speaking.

The widow of murdered NYPD officer Jason Rivera blasted the pro-crime policies  of Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg while eulogizing her husband in front of thousands of police officers. Rivera and a police partner, Wilbert Mora, were both killed last week while responding to a fight in a Bronx apartment. The suspect was shot and killed by a third officer at the scene. Manhattan DA Bragg has come under intense fire after distributing a memo in which he said prosecutors should lessen charges in many felony cases, and not prosecute at all in numerous other cases, including armed robberies in which nobody got seriously hurt. “We are not safe anymore, not even members of the service,” the widow, Dominique Luzuriaga, said. “I know you were tired of these laws, especially the ones from the new DA.
