A Hamas police graduation ceremony broadcast on Al-Aqsa TV (Gaza – Hamas) a week ago featured a speaker who had a particularly important message for the graduates about what it means to be a true hero. The speaker said: “Palestine is a mother that gives birth only to heroes. When she gives birth to him, what does she say? ‘My son, come join the fight. You were not born to live, but in order to die as a martyr, blowing up your enemies in the occupation.'” The video was translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), a non-profit media watchdog group with the stated goal of “bridging the language gap between the Middle East and the West.” STAY UPDATED WITH BREAKING UPDATES FROM YWN VIA WHATSAPP – SIGN UP NOW Just click on this link, and you will be placed into a group.

A TikTok user posted a video of himself dumping a tub of cereal onto the floor of a subway car during the pandemic — an apparent prank the MTA on Wednesday called “despicable.” In the video, the prankster can be seen pouring milk and cereal onto the floor of a 4 train heading to 149 St-Grand Concourse in the Bronx, forcing the mask-clad subway riders around him to flee the area. “I accidentally dropped a whole tub of cereal on the subway today. I was like, ‘Oh my God, this is the worst day of my life. Not my Fruity Pebbles.’ Everyone started moving away and filming me but I was like, can someone help? Surprisingly no one offered so I had to put all the soggy cereal back in myself,” the user says in the video, which was posted two days ago.

Twenty-six Israelis who have been stuck in Morocco due to coronavirus travel restrictions since March were repatriated to Israel in a complex rescue operation, landing in Israel on Thursday morning. Sadly, the group originally included 36 Israelis but 10 died while still in Morocco from the coronavirus. Some of the Israelis were in Morocco on business and others were tourists but all got stuck in Morocco when the government put a total lockdown on the country as soon as the coronavirus pandemic began, halting flights and forbidding travel from city to city.

In what at first appeared to be another terrorist attack, an Arab man in his 30s stabbed a security guard with a knife by the entrance to Sheba Hospital in Ramat Gan on Wednesday afternoon. The Arab was shot by another security guard and is in critical condition. The background to the incident was criminal, Israel Police reported. The suspect had entered the hospital with a relative who was seeking medical treatment and became involved in a fight with a civilian who asked him why he wasn’t wearing a face mask. In the course of the fight, the suspect pulled out a knife and security guards brought him to the entrance to the hospital where he stabbed one of the guards. Another security guard then shot the Arab, critically wounding him.

President Donald Trump voiced strong support Thursday for his former national security adviser Michael Flynn, raising speculation that a pardon may be coming after Flynn’s lawyers disclosed internal FBI documents they claim show the FBI tried to “intentionally frame” him. Trump said he believes Flynn should now be cleared in court, but if that doesn’t happen, he as president has “a different type of power.” “It looks to me like Michael Flynn would be exonerated based on everything I see,” Trump told reporters Thursday. “I’m not the judge, but I have a different type of power. But I don’t know that anybody would have to use that power.

President Donald Trump abruptly ended his White House news conference Monday following combative exchanges with reporters Weijia Jiang of CBS News and Kaitlan Collins of CNN. Jiang asked Trump why he was putting so much emphasis on the amount of coronavirus tests that have been conducted in the United States. “Why does that matter?” Jiang asked. “Why is this a global competition to you if everyday Americans are still losing their lives and we’re still seeing more cases every day?” Trump replied that “they’re losing their lives everywhere in the world. And maybe that’s a question you should ask China. Don’t ask me. Ask China that question.” He called for another question, and there was no immediate response. “Sir, why are you saying that to me, specifically?” Jiang asked.

This past Thursday, Rabbi Ariel Sadwin, director of Agudath Israel of Maryland, was honored to recite a prayer at the White House in honor of the National Day of Prayer. Rabbi Sadwin, who was introduced by President Trump, said the following prayer: King Solomon, in his great wisdom, writes in the second chapter of Song of Songs: “There He stands behind our wall, gazing through the windows, peering through the lattices”. The Midrash commentary explains this to be referring to Almighty G-d, at a time when His presence is NOT visible, nor is it readily apparent. But, fear not, says King Solomon, “He is right there in the background, watching over you through the window, and the lattice”.
