NY Governor Cuomo, during a daily coronavirus task force briefing in Manhattan, said a syndrome that is similar to Kawasaki disease that has afflicted 157 children across the state has made his administration hesitate to make a decision on reopening summer day camps for children. A decision on schools, he added, will not be made until well into the summer months. “Should I send my children to day camp? Is it safe? Until we have this answer on this pediatric syndrome; as a parent, until I know how widespread this is, as a parent I would not send my children to day camp,” he said. “They’re still exploring this. Hundreds if not thousands of Israeli websites were hacked in a cyberattack on Thursday, the National Cyber Directorate stated. The websites’ homepages were replaced with an anti-Israel video and the ominous (but poorly translated) message of: “The countdown of Israel destruction has begun since a long time ago,” in Hebrew and English. The anti-Israel video was also uploaded to YouTube with the statement: “An universal mission completed. It is done in order to support resistance and freedom of palestine.” “Hackers_Of_Savior” was named on the bottom of the page as the group responsible for the attack. The National Cyber Directorate said that it warned last week that Iran may perpetuate a cyberattack to mark al-Quds Day.

Rapidly rising water has overtaken dams and forced the evacuation of about 10,000 people from flooded communities in central Michigan, and the governor warned that one city could end up “under approximately 9 feet of water” Wednesday. For the second time in less than 24 hours, families living along the Tittabawassee River and connected lakes in Midland County were ordered to leave home Tuesday evening. By Wednesday morning, water several feet deep covered some streets, parking lots and parkland and had reached a hotel near the river in downtown Midland. On Wednesday morning, the river topped a previous record reading of 33.9 feet (10.3 meters) set during flooding in 1986, the National Weather Service said.

One of the leading physicians in Kiryas Joel, Dr Zev Zelenko, has announced that he is leaving the Village of Kiryas Joel where he has been practicing medicine for nearly two decades. Zelenko made national headlines recently by promoting Hydroxychloroquine as a treatment for COVID-19. Lawrence NY – A teenager is lucky to be alive after he took his fathers car for a high-speed joyride early this morning. Sources tell YWN that the teenager lost control of the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Washington Avenue. The vehicle slammed into an electric pole breaking it in half, and then crashed into Mesivta Ateres Yaakov. Bichasdei Hashem he walked out unharmed. Police were investigating the incident. The NYPD visited a Satmar (Williamsburg) Shul on South 8th Street on Wednesday morning, and emptied hundreds of people out during Shacharis. In viral social videos you can see the crowd and the NYPD cordial with each other as the people walked out. Sources told YWN that police eventually allowed everyone back inside as long as there was proper social distancing. YWN was unable to confirm with the NYPD if this was in fact the case. Following our arrival, other children walking toward school, with books in hand, or being driven in were turned away by several men standing outside.
