So we just arrived at Columbia Hospital with a baby on board the Ambulance.
The first question as we walked through the door was not what type emergency we have, but what zip code we are coming from.

The Trump administration has invited Jewish leaders over for a briefing on “pertinent” issues.
“Gathering with Jewish leaders,” an invitation viewed by the Jewish Telegraphic Agency says. “You are invited to a discussion with key Administration officials on pertinent issues impacting the community.”
It’s not clear how many Jewish leaders are invited to the meeting set for Tuesday, or what the “pertinent” issues are, or who the “key officials” are.

Mrs. Grylak was the wife of Rabbi Moshe Grylak, veteran writer and editor of the Mishpacha Magazine.
Mrs. Grylak was ill the last two years.
Mrs. Grylak was born in Poland on the 28th of Teves in 1938 to her parents, Rabbi Zvi Yosef and Mrs. Esther Grylak. She was a niece of the Ozherover Rebbe, Rav Moshe Yechiel HaLevi Epstein zt“l.
For years, she lived with her husband in Tel Aviv. Thirty years ago, they moved to the Har Nof neighborhood of Yerushalayim.

Dear Matzav Shmooze,
We recently went to Columbia Hospital with a baby who was seriously ill and the first question as we walked through the door was not what emergency we have but what zip code we live in.
The staff then stopped us in the hallway made us put on masks and wait for the whole ER staff to get masks on. The 3 EMT’S and two parents were treated like contaminated people from a 3rd world country rushed into a isolation room before being asked why we are here  – thank God we had a stable patient.
I’m not blaming the hospital and I’m not even sure who to blame but it was a very uncomfortable experience. I’m pretty sure that a non Jewish EMS unit would not be asked what zip code they are coming from.

All models of Rock ‘n Play Sleepers by Fisher-Price are being recalled after reports of infant fatalities occurring while using the product.
More than 30 infant fatalities have been reported since the product was introduced in 2009, “after the infants rolled over while unrestrained, or under other circumstances,” according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The recall came three days after the American Academy of Pediatrics wrote a news release calling on the commission to recall the products, pointing to their danger. Last week, the safety commission and Fisher-Price asked consumers to stop using the sleeper after an infant reaches three months of age, “or is capable of rolling over.”

Buchanan said the person was taken to an area hospital with injuries not believed to be life threatening. The incident occurred a few minutes before 3 p.m.

President Donald Trump on Friday tweeted a video attacking Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., for the way she phrased a reference to 9/11, adding fuel to a controversy that has swelled in Republican political circles this week.
The video showed snippets of comments Omar made last month at a banquet for a Muslim civil rights organization interspersed with footage of the twin towers burning.
“WE WILL NEVER FORGET!” Trump tweeted, along with the video.
On Thursday, the New York Post had helped set the tone by publishing a front page that showed her comment, “Some people did something,” over a similar image.

House Democrats are giving the Trump administration a hard deadline of April 23 to turn over President Donald Trump’s tax returns, pushing back against Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin’s skepticism over their request for the private records.
Rep. Richard Neal, D-Mass., chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, on Saturday sent a two-page letter to IRS Commissioner Charles Rettig rebuffing Mnuchin’s statement last week that Treasury would miss House Democrats’ initial April 10 deadline for the returns.
Mnuchin’s concerns “lack merit,” Neal wrote.
