Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed on Wednesday not to “uproot a single settlement” located in the disputed West Bank under any peace plan with the Palestinians.
While delivering remarks at an event held in the settlement of Revava, Netanyahu promised that his government would not disrupt the lives of Israeli citizens living in the “biblical heartland” of the Shomron in a message to settlers ahead of September’s general election.
“Here’s a commitment, write it down,” he said at the event marking 40 years since the founding of the Samaria Regional Council. “It is impossible to uproot any settlement in the Land of Israel, neither of Jews nor of Arabs, we do not uproot people… we are finished making the same mistakes of the past.”

Attempts to assassinate members of Hamas’ military wing by Israel were thwarted multiple times over recent months, Lebanese newspaper al-Akhbar reported on Wednesday.
The reported attempts came in earnest following a botched operation last November in the Gaza Strip that left one IDF special forces soldier dead, according to Hamas security sources who spoke with the publication.
The Gaza-based security sources also noted that unlike previous attempts to kill senior Hamas militants, Israel employed a “silent method” to take out their targets meant to minimize their footprint on the operations.

Rav Baruch Soloveitchik, a member of the Rabbinical Committee of Degel Hatorah, decided to resign from his position and from all public activity in Yerushalayim.
Rav Boruch, who was appointed by HaGaon Rav Aryeh Leib Shteinman zatzal, made the decision so he could return his focus to his yeshiva and talmidim.
“[The job] came at the expense of my yeshiva, I decided to invest in the yeshiva and leave the public business,” Rav Boruch explained.
