In a press conference Motzei Shabbos, Journalist Adi Cohen of i24 NEWS asked the Israeli Prime Minister a question regarding Israel’s strike in Gaza targeting Hamas’s #2 Mohammed Deif.
Cohen asked: “Does the decision not to notify the Americans before the operation express concern of opposition to the act?”
Bibi responded saying: “No, I have to tell you, I don’t understand it that way.”
However, Bibi continued, shockingly saying: “When we conduct such eliminations – first of all, the Americans know this is our policy – and by the way, it is also their policy. But – why should we risk something leaking out?

The IDF announced it conducted a strike targeting Mohammed Deif, head of Hamas’ military wing and considered the terror group’s #2 after Yahya Sinwar. In the strike, the IDF said it also targeted the commander of Hamas’ Khan Yunis Brigade, and a number of terrorists around him.
The IDF stated: “In a joint IDF and ISA activity based on precise intelligence, the IDF’s Southern Command and the IAF carried out a strike in an area where two senior Hamas terrorists and additional terrorists hid among civilians,”

The first trains for the upcoming Purple Line have arrived in Maryland. On Thursday, the new trains were unveiled in front of a crowd including numerous politicians and stakeholders.
The new light rail trains are built by CAF in Spain, and assembled in New York. At 142 feet long, they will be the longest Light Rail trains in the United States.
Each electric vehicle, which are powered by overhead wires, can carry 430 passengers, with seating for 80. The new trains also include space for a few wheelchairs and a few bikes. Notably, each train will be fully walk-through, enabling better passenger circulation than most American Light Rail trains.

Former President Donald Trump was the target of an apparent assassination attempt Saturday at a Pennsylvania rally, days before he was to accept the Republican nomination for a third time. A barrage of gunfire set off panic, and a bloodied Trump, who said he was shot in the ear, was surrounded by Secret Service and hurried to his SUV as he pumped his fist in a show of defiance. Trump’s campaign said the presumptive GOP nominee was doing “fine” after the shooting, which he said pierced the upper part of his right ear. “I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. Much bleeding took place,” he wrote on his social media site.

European allies in NATO are stepping up their military spending, just as Donald Trump wanted. They’re pointing to common interests, such as concerns over China. They’re creating American jobs by buying U.S. weapons. In words, deeds and arms deals, leaders of the United States’ partners in NATO are making the case for the military alliance in ways likely to appeal to the presumptive Republican presidential nominee. Even if their actions aren’t necessarily directly tied to Trump’s prodding, the allies are casting them in terms he would approve of — and maybe take credit for. It’s not clear what Trump would do about U.S. participation in NATO if elected.

Russian shelling of Ukraine killed four people on Saturday, officials said, as the two countries exchanged drone attacks, one of which set ablaze a Russian oil depot. Two people died in Ukraine’s partly occupied Kherson region and two were wounded in the attack close to the regional capital, said Gov. Oleksandr Prokudin. Two other people died Saturday afternoon and 22 were wounded in Ukraine’s northeastern Kharkiv region, according to Gov. Oleh Syniehubov. An oil depot in the Tsimlyansky district, deep inside Russia’s southwestern Rostov region, was set ablaze in the early hours of Saturday following a Ukrainian drone attack — the latest long-range strike by Kyiv’s forces on a border region.

Conservative groups are systematically attempting to challenge the legitimacy of large numbers of voter registrations across the country before the presidential election. The strategy is part of a wider effort raising questions about the integrity of this year’s election as former President Donald Trump repeatedly claims without evidence that his opponents are trying to cheat. The voter roll tactics include mass door-knocking campaigns, using special software designed to identify voters whose eligibility could be challenged and a crush of lawsuits. Some of those have been brought by the Republican National Committee, which hosts the GOP’s national convention this coming week.
