Two people were seriously injured on Monday evening in a shooting attack in the Shomron. Rescue Without Borders reported that the incident occurred on Route 55 between Kadumim and Karnei Shomron near Ramat Gilad. MDA paramedics and medics are providing medical treatment on the scene to two seriously injured individuals. At the same time, it was reported that dozens of extreme right-wing activists entered the nearby village of al-Funduq, set vehicles on fire, and rioted in the area. The IDF spokesperson stated that “IDF and Border Police forces have arrived at the Funduq area of the Ephraim Brigade in the last hour following reports of public disturbances and are currently working to disperse them.” The background for the riots is likely the terror attack that occurred in the village of Funduq about two weeks ago, during which three Israelis were killed. The terrorists who committed the attack have not yet been caught. Earlier this evening, Palestinians reported the arrest of dozens of Palestinians in the village of Azzun near Qalqilya, after a Molotov cocktail was thrown at an IDF force conducting searches in the area. The detainees were released after receiving a warning. (YWN Israel Desk – Jerusalem)
