During the highly anticipated Adirei HaTorah event held at Wells Fargo Arena in Philadelphia in June, Rav Aryeh Malkiel Kotler, the rosh yeshiva of Bais Medrash Govoah, shared news of an impending increase in kollel stipends for BMG yungeleit. However, the exact scale of the raise and its commencement date were not disclosed at the time.
Subsequently, representatives from BMG clarified that the planned enhancement would involve a 5% increment and was slated to take effect from the month of Elul.
This week, Rabbi Yosef Heinemann, the CEO of BMG, officially formalized the raise in stipends.
In a letter addressed to the kollel yungeleit of BMG, Rabbi Heinemann said, “With profound appreciation of being one of the Adirei HaTorah of Bais Medrash Govoah, we are pleased to inform you that the monthly kollel check as of September will be raised 5% to $1,050 monthly.”
The letter highlighted the sentiments expressed by the rosh yeshiva during the Adirei HaTorah event, underscoring the added devotion to Torah learning and the respect for Torah values that this initiative signifies.
The letter expressed appreciation for the dedication exhibited by the talmidei hayeshiva and their families, who exemplify unwavering commitment to both the study and honor of Torah.
“It is truly our zechus to provide this for the talmidei hayeshiva and their families, whose mesirus nefesh for limud haTorah and kavod haTorah uphold the world.”
As the letter concluded, it wished continued growth in Torah study and yiras Shomayim, while expressing a shared hope for the continued elevation of the banner of Torah.
