The dopes at MSNBC just can’t help themselves. In an opening monologue on The Beat, MSNBC host Ari Melber suggested that former President Trump’s bandaged ear, injured in a failed assassination attempt, was a “prop” and “spectacle” being exploited for political gain. Melber initially acknowledged the seriousness of the situation, calling it a “stark proof-of-life moment” and recognizing Trump’s near-death experience. However, he quickly shifted to accuse Trump of using the injury as a political tool, citing New York Times critic James Ponewozik’s description of the bandaged ear as a “prop.” Melber expanded on the criticism, saying the injury was being used as a “placard for delegates to fill in, an image for political mobilization, a spectacle” for Trump, who is “obsessed with assorted spectacles.” He questioned whether Trump was “overextending” his effort to garner sympathy votes, leaving it to voters to decide.
