In a highly publicized meeting today, the Gerer Rebbe met with Rav Moshe Hillel Hirsch and Rav Dov Landau, roshei yeshiva of the Slabodka Yeshiva in Bnei Brak, at Rav Landau’s home in Bnei Brak.
The 20-minute meeting also included the Gerer Rebbe’s son, Rav Nechemiah Alter.
The discussion centered around the ongoing crisis regarding the conscription law and the possibility of setting a joint deadline for Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, demanding that the conscription law be passed by Shavuos or else the Yahadut Hatorah (UTJ) party would withdraw from the coalition.
Following the dramatic meeting, the decision was made, as concluded earlier by Rav Hirsch and the Belzer Rebbe after discussions with Prime Minister Netanyahu, that no official ultimatum would be issued regarding the conscription law.
Earlier, Matzav.com reported that Prime Minister Netanyahu had a conversation with Rav Hirsch and had also spoken with the Belzer Rebbe.
