The grandson of the former acting Chief Rabbi of Israel, HaRav Eliezer Igra, was wounded fighting in Gaza over Shabbos.
The soldier, who is a member of the paratroopers brigade, was lightly wounded in battle in Khan Yunis, and Baruch Hashem doctors estimate he will be able to be released from the hospital within a few days.
Rav Igra, who is currently running for the Chief Rabbi position, received a phone call on Motzei Shabbos informing him of his Grandson’s injury. The Rav went to be Mevaker Cholim at Sha’are Tzedek hospital, and canceled his appointments for the evening.
Rav Igra has 5 grandsons and 7 sons or sons-in-law who have served in the IDF in reserves since the war in Gaza began, fighting both in Gaza and on the northern front.
Rav Igra asked the Tzibur to Daven for his Grandson Dvir ben Techiya, and also to Daven for victory in this war.
