In recent weeks, and despite the ceasefire, Hezbollah launched five drones at Israel, four of which penetrated Israeli airspace. The IDF chose to report only one incident to the public, Army Radio reported on Monday morning. According to assessments, the drones were all reconnaissance drones but it remains unclear why the IDF refrained from reporting the violations of the ceasefire to the public. “Tomorrow the IDF will withdraw from Lebanon – but the residents of the north are still living under the threat of Hezbollah’s drones hovering above them – and the IDF is refraining from telling them about it,” the report said. Kan News reported on Monday morning that ahead of the scheduled IDF withdrawal from Lebanon on Tuesday, Israel has increased strikes against Hezbollah targets, including targets deep within Lebanon. Overnight, the Israeli Air Force attacked Hezbollah military sites in Beqaa Valley in response to ceasefire violations. The attack coincided with the televised speech of Hezbollah’s Secretary-General Nasrallah Qassem. The IDF stated that the attack was carried out based on precise intelligence, targeting several military sites where Hezbollah activity was identified and contained rocket launchers and weaponry. “The activity of terrorist operatives at these sites constitutes a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon,” the IDF spokesperson said. “The IDF continues to act to remove any threat to the State of Israel.” (YWN Israel Desk – Jerusalem)
