At approximately 7:30 am this morning, red alert sirens blared across central Israel, signaling the threat of a missile fired from Yemen.
The sirens also sounded in Samaria and parts of the Yerushalayim area.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed, saying, “Following the sirens that sounded a short while ago in several areas in Israel, a missile launched from Yemen was intercepted by the IAF prior to crossing into Israeli territory.”
“The sirens were sounded in accordance with protocol,” the military further explained.
Magen David Adom (MDA) reported that, although the sirens were heard across various parts of the country, they had not yet received any emergency calls reporting injuries through their MDA 101 hotline.
The Houthi rebels from Yemen, who are supported by Iran, have been consistently firing ballistic missiles towards Israel in recent days. The group launched missiles on Thursday morning, Thursday night, and again on Friday night.
Yesterday, a missile fired by the Houthis from Yemen towards Israel landed in Saudi Arabia. According to Saudi sources, as reported by one of the Yemeni news outlets, the missile was intercepted by the US Navy’s air defense system.
