Dovid Stern, the former US marine who was seriously injured in a shooting attack in Huwara on Sunday, was released from the hospital on Wednesday evening. Stern was traveling in his car with his wife in Huwara when an Arab shot at him 23 times. Stern heroically protected his wife while shooting back at the terrorist, wounding him and causing him to flee. Stern then tied a tourniquet and bandaged his own wound while continuing to drive until he reached an IDF post. Despite the fear that he sustained a serious head injury due to the blood pouring from his head, the bullet miraculously only grazed his head. Stern left Beilinson Hospital in Petach Tikvah together with his wife and was accompanied by a convoy of local military security coordinators through Huwara, the site of the attack and the only way to reach his hometown of Itamar. Upon his arrival home, he was welcomed in a joyful reunion with his friends, and neighbors. (YWN Israel Desk – Jerusalem)
