Speaking from the Kirya in Tel Aviv on Tuesday evening, Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu addressed the nation following the Israeli Air Force’s unexpected airstrikes on Hamas and Islamic Jihad targets in Gaza earlier that day.
“We resumed combat operations with full force, based on the recommendation of security officials,” Netanyahu declared.
“This is only the beginning. We will press on until we achieve the war’s objectives and ensure that Gaza no longer threatens Israel,” he affirmed. “From this point forward, negotiations will take place only under fire.”
“We extended the ceasefire for weeks, even when we were not receiving hostages. We sent delegations to Doha and accepted the proposal put forth by U.S. envoy Witkoff. However, Hamas rejected every offer. I followed the recommendation of the IDF and security officials to restart military operations,” he explained.
