A hotel in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey, rented out for about 800 guests celebrating Shabbos Chanukah had to be evacuated after a pipe burst, leaving the guests outside in frigid temperatures motzei Shabbos. Rockland Hatzolah and Chaveirim rushed to the Hilton of Woodcliff Lake immediately after the zman on motzei Shabbos to assist the guests, with Chaveirim providing multiple school buses allowing guests to remain warm and out of the frigid weather. Woodcliff Lake had a RealFeel temperature below 0 degrees Fahrenheit motzei Shabbos. A Woodcliff Lake FD official said a burst pipe on the fourth floor of the Hilton hotel caused a massive leak, causing all heating in the structure to be turned off. A concert planned for motzei shabbos and further activities scheduled for Sunday were in limbo as hundreds of guests had enough and made their way back home to get some warmth.
