This evening, thousands of people gathered at the Kosel in Yerushalayim to mark Tisha B’Av, commemorating the destruction of both Botei Mikdosh. They gathered to read Megillas Eicha and recite Kinnos near the site where the Botei Mikdosh once stood.
Tens of thousands of visitors are expected over the next day at the Kosel, the last remaining part of the Bais Hamikdosh built in 516 BCE and destroyed by the Romans in 70 CE.
