It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rabbi Dovid Teichman z”l at the age of 59 on Shabbos morning.
Rabbi Teichman was a beloved leader, mechanech, and innovator in the frum community, leaving behind a legacy of devotion to chinuch, Torah and a deep love for Klal Yisrael.
Rabbi Teichman dedicated decades of his life to teaching and guiding the youth of various Sefardic community yeshivos, including Yeshiva Shaarei Torah, where he served as a revered rebbi. His warm and caring approach to teaching had a lasting impact on the many talmidim who were privileged to learn under his tutelage. Rabbi Teichman was known for his ability to create bridges, uniting people from diverse backgrounds and fostering a sense of achdus within the community.
Rabbi Teichman took great pride in his involvement in the chinuch field, both during the school year and during the summer. He was a true innovator, particularly in his development of day camp programs. Rabbi Teichman took the traditional sleepaway camp experience and adapted it for day camps, creating a model that has since been adopted by many others. His leadership at Ruach Day Camp and Camp Govoha touched countless lives, providing children with opportunities to grow in their Yiddishkeit and develop a love for Torah and mitzvos.
The levayah will take place today, at 11 a.m., at Shomrei Hada Chapels, located at 3803 14th Avenue in Boro Park, Brooklyn, followed by kevurah in Monsey.
Yehi zichro boruch.
