It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rav Moshe Gedalia Schwab zt”l, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Degel HaTorah and Mesivta Maamar Mordechai in Monsey. He passed away after a battle with a dreaded illness.
Rav Moshe was a son of the Tzaddik of Monsey, Rav Mordechai Menachem Schwab zt”l, mashgiach of Mesivtah Bais Shraga.
He carried on the legacy of his illustrious father with dignity, while forging his own unique path in the world of chinuch and harbotzas haTorah.
With a heart burning for Torah and a deep sense of responsibility to the next generation, Rav Moshe founded Yeshiva Degel HaTorah decades ago, building it into a makom Torah of distinction. Under his steady leadership, Degel HaTorah became known for its exemplary rabbeim and for producing outstanding bnei Torah thanks to their dedication and devotion.
Rabbi Schwab’s petirah leaves a void in the hearts of his family, talmidim, and all who merited to be influenced by him.
The levayah will be held on Sunday, at 1:30 p.m., at Yeshiva Degel Hatorah, located at 111 Maple Ave in Spring Valley, NY.
Rabbi Schwab is survived by his devoted wife and their wonderful family.
Yehi zichro baruch.
