Due to the fear of an Iranian attack and the great concern for those foreign bnei yeshiva who are supposed to return to yeshiva in time for Elul, this week, the rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Mir Yerushalayim, Rav Eliezer Yehuda Finkel, visited the residence of the Rav Moshe Sternbuch, gaavad of the Badatz of the Eidah Hachareidus.
Rav Finkel sought Rav Sternbuch’s response regarding those American talmidim who are afraid to return to learn in Eretz Yisrael, or their parents who are anxious and fearful to send their sons to Eretz Hakodesh.
Rav Sternbuch responded decisively to the rosh yeshiva: “There have always been difficult situations. If they come to yeshiva and study Torah, we will have more zechusim (merits) and no harm will befall them. The Torah protects against afflictions and illness.”
