MK Yisrael Eichler of the United Torah Judaism party has reportedly taken steps to assist the Belzer chassidishe community in securing private transportation services from the Transportation Ministry, as per a Channel 12 News report.
Approximately one month ago, the request was formally presented to Deputy Transportation Minister Uri Maklev, also a member of United Torah Judaism. The Transportation Ministry has reported a surge in requests for private transportation, particularly from the chareidi community.
Belz is purportedly seeking support for private bus services to facilitate travel to Yerushalayim for Yom Tov gatherings. Their request specifies the need for private buses that can pick them up around 3:00 a.m.
Sources indicate that in response to these requests from the Chassidim, an official request was initiated by a prominent Belzer businessman closely associated with MK Eichler, aiming to assist the Chassidishe community in coordinating their transportation needs.
MK Maklev has not granted approval for these requests at this time.
In response to these developments, Eichler asserted, “The Belzer community has not officially made any requests for buses.”
