In the wake of an unthinkable tragedy, New York City Mayor Eric Adams visited the Saada home on Sunday, offering words of solace to the grieving father, Sidney Saada yb”l, who lost his wife and two young daughters in a horrific car crash less than 24 hours earlier. The devastating incident occurred on Shabbos afternoon, when 32-year-old Miriam Yarimi, driving with a suspended license, struck and killed Natasha (Sara) Saada A”H, along with her 7-year-old daughter Diana A”H and 5-year-old daughter Debra A”H on Ocean Parkway near Quentin Road. The tragedy has also left the family’s four-year-old son, Pinchas Raphael Ben Sarah, in critical condition, fighting for his life. Standing before a heartbroken Sidney Saada, Mayor Adams spoke not just as a city leader, but as a father who could only begin to fathom the depths of such grief. “I’m here as a dad. Father to father,” Adams told him. “I only have one child. And I feel your pain…” Adams assured Mr. Saada that his administration was ready to assist in any way possible during this unimaginable time. Joining the Mayor were senior city officials, including CAU Commissioner Fred Kreizman, NYPD Community Affairs Chief Richie Taylor, and Deputy Chief of Staff Menashe Shapiro. Also present was Rabbi Raphael Netanel, a leading Sephardic askan, who has been at the forefront of supporting the family since the moment tragedy struck. Rabbi David Ozeri, one of the leading Sephardic Rabbonim, broke down in tears as he described the depths of tragedy and expressed his gratitude to Mayor Adams for his compassion and for personally visiting the bereaved family. The family expressed particular gratitude to Chief Richie Taylor, who has been a pillar of support throughout the ordeal. The levaya for Natasha A”H and her daughters will take place on Sunday at 4:30 PM at Shomrei Hadas Chapels in Boro Park. The kevurah will take place in Eretz Yisroel on Har Hamenuchos on Monday. The driver, Miriam Yarimi, has been charged with three counts of second-degree manslaughter, three counts of criminally negligent homicide, and multiple additional charges related to reckless driving and traffic violations. Please continue to daven for Pinchas Raphael ben Sara for a refuah sheleima.  (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)
