Three years ago, on Purim d’mukafin, while the residents of Yerushalayim celebrated the joy of Purim, the Torah world came to a standstill. The great heart of the gadol hador, Rav Chaim Kanievsky zt”l, whose guidance the entire Torah world followed, ceased to beat. The entire Torah world mourned the loss.
Beginning this coming Motzoei Shabbos, thousands are expected to visit the kever of Rav Chaim at the cemetery in Bnei Brak. The mass visitation will take place from Motzoei Shabbos until Monday at sunset.
Organizers are preparing to accommodate the thousands who will come from all over the country. Tents and shelters will be set up throughout the cemetery to provide for the public. Additionally, drinks and refreshments will be available around the clock for those coming to pay their respects.
In light of the difficult situation currently in the country, a tefillah gathering will be held on Monday, the 17th of Adar, at 1:30 PM, at the kever of Rav Chaim. The gathering will feature Rav Shimon Galai and Rav Yitzchak Shaul Kanievsky, son of Rav Chaim, who will both lead the tefillos with the masses for the welfare of Klal Yisroel.
Due to ongoing renovations by the Bnei Brak municipality at the back section of the cemetery, this year, entry will be permitted only through Rechov Chazon Ish. The organizers ask the public to stay updated and follow the instructions of the coordinators on site.
