An unusual moment was captured on Sunday at the lounge in Ben Gurion Airport, where the Rebbe of Dushinsky and his wife arrived on their way to London for the wedding celebration of their granddaughter.
The Dushinsky Rebbe, known for his simplicity and lack of formalities—often traveling without attendants and even previously seen carrying his own luggage—encountered mentalist Meni Hollander. Hollander approached the Rebbe and began sharing details about his work as a performer.
During their conversation, Hollander astounded the Rebbe by revealing that he had correctly guessed the name of a person the Rebbe was thinking about. The name was “Zalman,” and it referred to the Rebbe’s father-in-law, Rav Yekusiel Yehuda Meisels zt”l, gaavad of Khal Yereim-Sighet, who was referred to as “Zalman Leib.”
The Rebbe enjoyed the exchange, and shortly thereafter, he boarded his flight to London for the wedding of his granddaughter, the daughter of his son, Rav Yoel Yaakov Dushinsky, the Av Beis Din of Dushinsky in London, who is marrying the son of Rav Chaim Michael Biberfeld, the Av Beis Din of Tschortkov in London.
