Yaakov Shwekey announced the release date for his newest album which will be called Aliyah. The album is set to come out for Lag Ba’omer on may 29th and will be one of the 6+ major albums coming out in the next few weeks. The album is truly a treat since Shwekey isn’t really do for a full new album which is what Aliyah looks to be. Shwekey normally releases a new album about every 2 years with a filler album in the off years. Shwekeys latest album “L’chaim A Toast To Life” came out only a year ago which led many to think his new album now would be a filler album. Rumors were even going around that Shwekey’s new album was gonna be “Those Were The Days 3”.

Shwekeys most recent album “L’chaim A Toast To Life” came out in spring of 2021 right after Shavuos, over 3 years since his previous album Musica. Shwekey said in an interview on the Meaningful People Podcast that he originally intended to make his 2021 album a double album, but when it was taking too long he opted to release the half that was ready as a regular album and save the rest for later. Shwekey’s new album “Aliya” is very likely the other half to what was gonna be a major double album.

We got the first hint that Shwekey was working on a new album when he was in Israel during midwinter this year working on new music. As soon as we saw that we updated you all right away sharing that the 2nd half of Shwekey’s album may be around the corner. Well now here it is!

Shwekeys new album “Aliyah” will definitely be one of the biggest hits of the year & is sure to impress. hopefully the album will come with a new music video, but with Shwekey having just recently released a music video for “L’chaim A Toast To Life Remix” it’s possible we won’t see another video from him in a while.
