A Chabad girls’ school in Toronto was struck by gunfire early Yom Kippur morning, marking the second such incident this year at the school as antisemitic attacks surge across Canada. Local police reported that shots were fired from a vehicle at around 4 a.m. at the Bais Chaya Mushka school in the North York area, shattering a window. No injuries were reported. This is the second time the school has been targeted this year, following a similar shooting in May. Authorities believe the two incidents are connected. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who has done practically nothing to stop the hate overtaking Canada, said he was “very disturbed” by the attack. “As we wait for more details, my heart goes out to the students, staff, and parents who must be terrified and hurting today,” Trudeau wrote on X. He added, “Antisemitism is a disgusting and dangerous form of hate — and we won’t let it stand.” The rise in antisemitic incidents across Canada has been documented in a May report by B’nai Brith Canada, which revealed that antisemitic acts more than doubled between 2022 and 2023. In recent months, other Jewish institutions have been targeted by violence and threats. (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)
