An attempted stabbing attack took place Monday afternoon in Yerushalayim, Israeli news site N12 reported.
The incident took place on Meir Nakar Street, near the Arab neighborhood of Jabel Mukaber in the eastern section of the city.
The suspect, who N12 said was a Palestinian resident of eastern Jerusalem, approached a group of police officers and shouted, “Allahu Akbar!”
The police officers used tear gas against the attacker, but he nonetheless attempted to stab one of them.
The police then shot the attacker in the stomach, leaving him seriously wounded.

Millions of dollars earmarked for the Palestinian’s COVID-19 coronavirus response have been misappropriated for use by organizations with links to terrorism, a new NGO Monitor report has claimed.
The research watchdog found that several of the groups in receipt of funds that the World Health Organization (WHO) and UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) coordinated, are tied to the People’s Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), as cited in The Jerusalem Post. The PFLP is a proscribed terrorist organization in Israel, the EU, US and Canada.

The coronavirus fatality rate estimate has fallen, according to the latest estimates of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, to 0.26%, far below previous estimates.
The updated CDC figures show a 0.4% death rate for symptomatic cases of coronavirus, down-grading the estimated fatality rate from 1% of symptomatic cases.
With the CDC now estimating that more than a third (35%) of coronavirus cases are completely asymptomatic, the total fatality rate for the coronavirus is now believed to be 0.26%.
That still makes the current coronavirus pandemic twice as lethal as the seasonal flu, which kills about 60,000 people in the US every year.

Do you remember The Siyum? Yes, the day Klal Yisrael gathered together, hundreds of thousands strong at MetLife Stadium, Barclays Center and dozens of locations around the world, to celebrate Torah. Yes, The Siyum may now sound like a distant dream – can you imagine being able to go somewhere, daven with the world’s largest minyan, and even dance with strangers? But, no matter how many tens of days March had this year, The Siyum still lives on.

Even with Yeshivos closed and Shuls shuttered, Torah is not on lockdown. On phone conferences and Zoom meetings around the world, Daf Yomi is being learned. We are just as connected and united as before, because our nation understands that Torah is our life – ki heim chayeinu.
