KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Russian drones hit a military hosp

Russian drones hit a military hospital, shopping center and apartment blocks in Ukraine’s second-largest city of Kharkiv, killing two people and wounding dozens, while U.S. President Donald Trump voiced anger at Russian President Vladimir Putin for comments he made about the leader of Ukraine. Ukraine’s General Staff denounced the “deliberate, targeted shelling” of the military hospital late Saturday. Among the casualties were service members who were undergoing treatment, it said. Regional Gov. Oleh Syniehubov said those killed were a 67-year-old man and a 70-year-old woman.

U.S. immigration officials are asking the public and federal agencies to comment on a proposal to collect social media handles from people applying for benefits such as green cards or citizenship, to comply with an executive order from President Donald Trump. The March 5 notice raised alarms from immigration and free speech advocates because it appears to expand the government’s reach in social media surveillance to people already vetted and in the U.S. legally, such as asylum seekers, green card and citizenship applicants — and not just those applying to enter the country. That said, social media monitoring by immigration officials has been a practice for over a decade, since at least the second Obama administration and ramping up under Trump’s first term.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is currently holding almost 50,000 detainees, as President Trump’s approach of deporting criminal undocumented immigrants persists. This figure surpasses the peak of 40,000 detentions seen under Joe Biden by around 10,000.
As of March 23, federal records indicate that the number of detainees stands at 47,892. This figure exceeds the 39,703 detainees during the Biden administration, though it still falls short of the 60,000 detainees recorded during Trump’s first term. However, it seems likely that this record will soon be surpassed.
These are the highest detention numbers in five years, and experts predict they may rise even further once additional funding is implemented, according to Substack user Austin Kocher.

Iran has flatly rejected President Donald Trump’s call for renewed nuclear negotiations, spurning a chance to avert escalating tensions and testing the limits of America’s patience. The rejection, announced by Tehran on Sunday, comes in response to a stern letter from Trump demanding that Iran return to the negotiating table to address its illicit nuclear ambitions—or face the full weight of U.S. economic and military might. President Trump had warned Iran earlier this week that failure to engage in talks would trigger secondary tariffs and potentially unprecedented military action. “If they don’t make a deal, there will be bombing. And it will be bombing the likes of which they have never seen before,” Trump declared, as reported by NBC’s Kristen Welker.

Israeli security forces have thwarted a chilling terrorist plot orchestrated by a 17-year-old Arab citizen loyal to the Islamic State (ISIS), the Israel Police and Shin Bet announced in a joint statement on Sunday. The suspect, a resident of Jisr az-Zarqa—a coastal Arab town nestled between Kibbutz Ma’agan Michael and Caesarea—was apprehended on March 2 in a dramatic joint operation. The teenager, whose identity remains under wraps due to his age, had repeatedly sworn allegiance to ISIS and its shadowy “current caliph,” investigators revealed. His target was a deadly attack within the Menashe Division’s jurisdiction, a region under the eye of the Israel Police. A raid on his home uncovered a trove of documents detailing the creation of explosives, signaling his intent to unleash havoc.

On Erev Rosh Chodesh Nissan, a special Yom Kippur Katan atzeres tefillah was held at the central Gerer Shul in Arad, dedicated to davening for the safe return of the hostages held by Hamas in Gaza.
Hundreds of people from the city, along with members of the Kalfon family, whose son is still held captive by the terrorists, participated in the Atzeres.
The gathering began with Mincha and the recitation of the fourth sefer of Tehillim. The attendees recited the Yud Gimmel Middos before the open aron kodesh, fervently davening for the swift and healthy return of all the hostages, including Shagav Kalfon, who has been held by Hamas since Simchas Torah 5784.
