Despite his age, the man, lauded by Palestinian media outlets as a hero, joined rioters decades younger than him in hurling rocks at IDF forces. He was also videoed fighting with a local Jewish resident. Some media outlets dubbed him “The Sheikh of the Mountain.”

Parler is seeking a temporary restraining order to keep Amazon Web Services (AWS) from blackballing Parler and claims Amazon Web Services is violating the Sherman Antitrust Act in the filing. “AWS’s decision to effectively terminate Parler’s account is apparently motivated by political animus,” Parler claims in its filing. “AWS is violating Section 1 of the Sherman Antitrust Act in combination with Defendant Twitter.

The NYS Bar Association is launching an inquiry into removing Giuliani from its membership. NYSBA’s release says “We cannot stand idly by and allow those intent on rending the fabric of our democracy to go unchecked.” The release cites bylaws that “no person who advocates the overthrow of the government of the United States, or of any state, territory or possession thereof, or of any political subdivision therein, by force or other illegal means, shall be a member of the Association.” “Their subsequent attack on the Capitol was nothing short of an attempted coup, intended to prevent the peaceful transition of power.” (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)

Melania Trump said Monday that she is “disappointed and disheartened” by the deadly riot at the Capitol last week by supporters of her husband. But in breaking her silence, she also lashed out at people she said have used the tragic event to spread “salacious gossip, unwarranted personal attacks and false and misleading accusations about me.” The statement marked the first lady’s first public comment in the five days since a violent mob of Trump supporters, angry over Trump’s election loss and stirred up by the president himself, stormed the Capitol on Wednesday and temporarily disrupted proceedings certifying that Democrat Joe Biden will be the next president come Jan. 20.

A House resolution calling on Vice President Mike Pence to invoke constitutional authority to remove President Donald Trump from office was blocked Monday by Republicans. Democrats in the House are pushing Pence and the Cabinet to oust Trump, saying he is unfit for office after encouraging a protest march that turned into a mob that ransacked the U.S. Capitol in a deadly siege. Pence has given no indication he is ready to proceed on such a course, which would involve invoking the 25th Amendment to the Constitution, including a vote by a majority of the Cabinet to oust Trump before he leaves office on Jan. 20. Democratic President-elect Joe Biden will be sworn in on that date. With just days left in Trump’s presidency, the House also is preparing to impeach Trump this week.

“Armed protests are being planned at all 50 state capitols from 16 January through at least 20 January, and at the US Capitol from 17 January through 20 January,” according to an FBI bulletin obtained by ABC News. “An identified armed group intends to travel to Washington, DC on 16 January. They have warned that if Congress attempts to remove POTUS via the 25th Amendment a huge uprising will occur.” The group is calling for “storming” state, local, and federal government courthouses and administrative buildings in the event President Trump is removed prior to Inauguration Day. The FBI has "received information about an identified armed group intending to travel to Washington, DC on 16 January.

NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea on Monday said that an IAB investigation is underway into an allegation that a member of the NYPD was at the fatal riots at the US Capitol last week. “I can tell you that there is one investigation that is active on one member,” Shea said on NY1 Monday morning. “There is no name yet released because we don’t know yet if it’s true or not, but I can tell you that anyone committing crimes certainly would have a very short shelf life with the NYPD.” (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)
